Brian Kelly is not going anywhere any time soon

TPTB will want to replace him with a former NFL coach. Or if a college coach one who has "Louisiana ties" And they definitely want someone under 50.
So who can you get to replace him? Not many NFL coaches want to go back to college and have to deal with NIL and the transfer portal. And while there are a couple of intriguing college coaches- with relatively affordable buyouts- the question will be can they assemble a staff that can compete with the top staffs in the SEC.
Has anyone checked next year's schedule? Face it. It is brutal. Bama, Texas, and aTm at home. And Auburn Ol' Miss, and Tennessee on the road. A 6-6 record is not an impossibility. What coach can you bring in and subject to this right off the bat? It may be best to let Kelly stay because after 2026 things will swing in LSU's favor more than they wil after this season.

Former NFL coach?
Gruden would be a disaster. Would be like what’s happening with Carolina and Belichick

The amount of people who legitimate want to hire Gruden is concerning

They don’t have a clue. Just low IQ “Fire muh corch Kelly!!” moans on this board.

the longer BK struggles at LSU. the more money will run out for Football.
Getting Kiffin or another exciting coach who can pump belief in the program is better fiscally long term than “waiting until after 2026”

Fans have bailed on the coach.
The next phase will be resetting the staff..
Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic
Things will get dark fast.. Moscona is already throwing the NIL parity excuse around. Getting blown off the ball by Vandy goes beyond NIL parity. It shows a program imploding in real time. Massive culture issue too.
And we fans are stuck because of the shite deal Woody wrote up.
We are stuck til at least another season possibly two. I expect season ticket sales to drop.. And 1/4 empty tiger stadium or worse for the low rent games.

Yes let’s stick with Kelly and just be stuck in the 8-4 chokehold for years and years to come
I mean if y’all really dont care about ever contending for anything for a long time then yes by all means just settle and keep BK.

You think that is a high IQ point?

Yeah it makes no sense at all.
NFL lifer who’s never coached college. Hasn’t coached in over a decade.
But he’s a big name, so it concerns me that Woodward might go after him once BK is gone.

BK has become Les Miles 2.0 meaning he wants to keep the game close with defense and hope he has the ball last in a close game, however, that is what got Miles fired.
BK has won big games with a mobile QB and lost several games to teams with mobile QBs yet he refuses to admit the problem with his offense is his QB. Even when he wins games they are not enjoyable to watch because LSU fans like aggressive offenses.

At least Les’s teams were more physical.

Mascona overhyped this LSU team all summer. If he had been paying attention to some of the underlying issues LSU has (especially on both lines) instead of worrying about Bama, he could have done something positive in shaping expectations for this year. Instead he helped create a narrative that set expectations sky high and has helped, in some part, create this foul mood among the LSU fan base.
Mascona is more interested in keeping his sources in the Athletic Department than anything.

No, you don’t keep or fire a coach based on next years schedule.

It's people who show they really don't know football.

And asking questions about Kelly’s visor the week of getting your shite kicked in by Vandy.
We need Tbob to go off since he’s unleashed and doesn't have to worry about access.

Gruden has too much baggage with him......a good coach, yes....
Posted on 10/20/25 at 6:58 pm to Conway Tittayz
Kelly fired a shot to all the other coaches and their agents...."You're Spoiled" in a way that statment made them wonder if LSU was worthy of elite status. There we were 5-0 and complaining about winning. We may be lepers. Is this place worth it? Only if we bring the money. Now Kelly is going to ride it out. He is in the driver's seat. Sure, he'll do those 12 or so Monday press conferences and endure all the criticism, Just keep drafting that monthy paycheck inot his bank acount.
