What has Kelly done …

I’m laying in my hotel bed at the Graduate in Nashville hungover scrolling through TD and watching ESPN highlights trying to figure out what has Kelly done to the program? Under Dinardo, we weren’t the most talented team collectively but our guys really had a lot of grit, determination and resolve. Saban brought in the talent, focus, attention to detail, and perfection. Miles continued bringing in talent, albeit sloppy and unprepared. We simply won a lot of games by having the better roster. Orgeron was a circus at times, but except for the last couple seasons, he did assemble the best team ever and brought fire and passion.
What is Kelly good at? What has he done? I really don’t think we’re that much more talented out there…especially compared to our better opponents. Were sloppy and poorly coached (that 1st and goal on the 2 for example resulting in a FG). Our players don’t have the fire or determination as the other coaches…they look like they’re going through the motions.
Other than the Clemson game, the team is … boring? They really aren’t a fun team to watch. What has Kelly done to the identity or culture of LSU football?

Baw. Get it together. Vandy isn’t a shite team. They have one loss and that’s to Bama. It sucks but the top half of the SEC are all pretty close.

It hasn’t even gotten bad yet. Wait and see the players quit on the team when we lose the next two to Bama and ATM and are 5-4. Some players will start making business decisions to protect themselves for the draft.

They just don’t have an identity other than going through the motions. They give up a big play, meh, no big deal…they go three and out, who cares? Their body language, even pregame, is like they’re disinterested and don’t care. They have no dog in them. I have a feeling the team has or will quit. I think Kelly lost the team and that’s on him.

I actually think he’s done the roster management stuff pretty well.
From working the portal for transfers, to keeping some of our own. It’s been a bit of a process but he did well with the first guys he brought in, and it looks like a good NIL apparatus/ front office is in place.
Unfortunately, he’s fricked a lot of that off with some of his coaching hires like Sloan and Matt House (and House’s staff).

He's just not a good coach. It smells like he apes human resources culture. HR milquetoast leadership, a trend following safety CEO not a coach. They don't' have fire, no real drive to win. That's what is missing. We have talent right now, too bad we don't have a team.

Has he though? 2023 offense and that putrid defense? This year, we have a lot except for the offensive line, which is one of the worst I’ve ever seen at LSU.
We always have one piece or position group wholly deficient and we can’t make up for it.

GentleJackJones: you are 100% correct, LSU IS NOT A FUN TEAM TO WATCH! Spend $50M before it’s too late and Tiger stadium is empty. Without any mayor changes we lose 3 more games this year!

I like that comparison. It’s like he’s “playing it safe” and shooting for 8-10 win teams.

Not a fan of BK and I don’t think he’ll ever win a NC here, but he’s at least brought stability.
