And then sacrafice Sloan as his scapegoat in the offseason.

Start loading up the war chest for next years buyout.

No one expects the OC and OL Coach to be fired during the season.

Whether Sloan is fired now or later, it does not matter for Kelly.

He's getting another year, either way, just like both Les and O got a final do or die year.

Agree- Sloan is definitely gone after the season. The experiment is over. Still pissed that he was promoted to keep a QB recruit that we didn't get!

Daniels masked a lot of issues the two years before that.

Why would we wait until the end of the season to fire Sloan?

Is there any possible way the play calling could be worse? Just let some intern do it.

Sloan was never JDs OC

But I do think a lot of people have Sloan credit for JDs development even though it’s clear now that was all Daniels and his own drive.

Because we have to hire another OC after him, and your predecessor being shitcanned after his best game of the season 7 games into only his 2nd season is not a great pitch for the guy you want. Who obviously has a good gig currently or you wouldn’t fricking want him.

Every school is paying ridiculous money now. Did you see what Indiana just guaranteed Cignetti? Most coordinators are young, married, with young kids in schools and in communities and towns they’re already established in. Why leave for a job with so little security? You know who would do that? Guys like Joe Sloan. Risks. The established ones you’d actually want will have their agents pretend like they’re interested, play us to get a raise out of their current school and stay there with the same money, less pressure, much better job security, and they won’t have to uproot their entire lives.

How are some of y’all so goddamn fricking stupid and short-sighted that you can’t even see by if your tiny little dicks? It’s baffling.

Which was still a dogshit performance. It was awful.

Here’s the pitch: “hey, don’t be fricking horrible, here’s some money”

No. Some actually do. Want to fire the guy in the current gig mid-season and pay his $3 million buyout and let a 24-year-old GA take over his duties. “It couldn’t get any worse.” bullshite. Yes, yes it very much could.

In fairness, it could get better. But the odds are so very slim and would be a terrible risk/reward move even if it worked. The process of the decision making would still have been….very unsound.
