WD-40

Spray down. let sit for about 10-15 minutes. Whip off with paper towels. Then wash with soap and water afterwards.

Or

This will work for sure. But so will gasoline.

WD-40, spray on heavily a couple times, let dwell, wipe with a WD-40 saturated cloth. May take a couple applications. Then I’d wash thoroughly…

Yes, but mineral spirits or turpentine would also work and present less danger if any source or ignition becomes present.

Wax & Grease remover that they use with auto painting is the fastest thing to get it off.
That's what almost any detail shop is going to use because it won't soften the clearcoat.

Meguairs, Turtle Wax, etc. all make Bug & Tar remover products that cost about $5. Can find at Wal-Mart or Auto Zone type places.

Diesel works also and is safer than gas, but nastier.

Basically any non polar solvent works.

Before you think it’s road tar you may want to spend 10 minutes checking your wheel bearings. I kept having it on side of truck and got to looking, it was bad wheel bearings slinging grease up side of truck.

Just a little information for you
