I’m sure Calvin’s will get lots of love, but who else you got?

Maxwells Market and Hi Neighbor are both elite.

I would say Maxwell Market and Oak Point, after Calvin's.

That grocery store on Government street almost to Foster. Starts with a C . It's really good and they had multiple varieties.

Chicken salad is just a clever way for a supermarket to get rid of chicken that is starting to go south.
I starts out with a whole chicken that is then put into the rotisserie when the sell by date is looming. When the rotisserie chicken is nearing the sell by date, they simply make chicken salad out of it.
Not surprising Calvin’s chicken salad gives me the farts……….

I don’t think anyone is surprised by this info, but thanks for your input.

This is an interesting way to answer this question. Congrats on your deep insight into how grocery stores maintain profit margin.

Some do. Calvin’s doesn’t. He uses fresh boneless chicken breast only. No dark meat. It’s the easiest cheapest way.
He also sells the little about 3lb chickens that he uses in his Broaster fresh. They are vacuum packed by him. Most tender little
Chicken you can find around.

I’m eating some now, and I think I actually agree with you on the onion. It’s too strong. It’s still better than the average that I get most places, but agree, cut back on the onions.
Pro tip: Chicken Salad used as a dip with Fritos Scoops is an excellent gameday appetizer.

Well I make a fried chicken gumbo so now that you brought Popeyes into the discussion I believe an 8 piece spicy might make an interesting chicken salad. Certainly one worthy of a prototype for testing purposes.

Do you debone the chicken, or just throw the entire pieces in? What effect does the fried crust have to texture of the gumbo?
