What will be the impact of this generation of kids/babies having trashy grandparents?

Their grandparents have divorces, tattoos, grandmothers probably have a job, grandmothers wear jeans
My heart breaks for these children. Imagine having a step grandmother who works at dollar general and vapes?

My children had some trashy grandparents... my grandchildren do not. I think the tides are turning on this.

Sometimes I feel like we are a slow decline. Each generation will get a little worse than the one before. Then I see my kids and their friends who all seem to be leaning towards the more conservative side of things and think there may be some hope.
Either way the gap between the trashy folks and good honest folks will continue to grow.
Anyway…That’s my thought for the day.

My maternal grandfather had a family on the side and ditched my mom's family for the other one 50 years ago. I'd say that's pretty fricking trashy.

Nothing that having trashy parents wouldn’t already instill in them. If the parents are classy, hard working people, the grandparents will have minimal impact

I would think there are a lot of millennials and even zoomers that had less classy and less traditional parents, but their greatest/silent generation grandparents' presence probably instilled at least some level of traditional values.... or at least a little shame. Many crazy lib millennials will/would still dress nice and go to christmas mass or whatever, for their grandparents.
I don't think that will continue with the current crop of boomers

I bet many on this board had trashy grandparents and didn't even know it. It's probably not as big a deal as you think, thankfully. The problem is they also usually have trashy parents, which is a big deal.

My grandpa may have hung the moon and dropped bombs on dirty Nazis, but the man lived in Chalmette and smoked until he died from it. Nobody on earth hated him, but by OT standards, he was the epitome of poor white trash
