How does Browns GM Andrew Berry still have a job?

There probably isn't a worse run organization in the NFL.
I know the owner is a total dipshit, but still.
- Traded away Baker Mayfield, who they spend the #1 overall pick and is now the leading MVP candidiate, after the team's first playoff win in forever.
- Fully guaranteed $250M+ deal and traded 3 1stvround picks Mr. rub-n-tizug who may be the worst QB in the league and the worst transaction in modern NFL history.
- Traded Joe Flacco to an inter-division rival mid-season when you have no QB on the roster who is any good and 2 rookies.
He also had a chance to trade Myles Garrett for probably 2-3 1st Rd picks and 2 more lower round picks but elected to give him $160M instead to play for a 4 win team and now he's "frustrated"...

I mean Flacco looked pretty terrible with the browns this year. I don’t think many teams would’ve kept him around after benching him.

Why would the Browns wanna win games this year? To end up with a middle of the pack draft pick instead of a high one?

I believe this was Jimmy Haslam, not Andrew Berry.

He doesn’t want to win games and had an opportunity to stick it to the Steelers.

Berry probably wants to be fired, and is wondering himself why he still has a job.
He looked like he hated his life during the draft when they picked Shedeur after already drafting Gabriel. You could tell it wasn't his decision.

The first two were awful. The Flacco trade was actually the right decision given where the Browns are/were at, but it’s like getting a B on a quiz that’s weighted 10%, when the first two were each Fs on exams each weighted 45%.

Trading Flacco got the Browns a pick for a guy that they werent playing and will likely retire soon.
They dont want to win games and need to see what they have at QB
The Bengals will win a couple more games and get a worse pick.
Of all the stupid shite the Browns do, trading Flacco isnt part of that.

Why in the absolute frick would you upgrade your division rival?
That organization is lost completely.

Trying to tank while showing the owner the HC doesn't have a clue.
Double edged sword as it exposes the fact that as GM you cannot draft quality wideouts...
Bengals O-line is as bad if not worse than the Browns O-line.
Although Berry's last draft class had performed well this year for a change.

Why the frick would the Browns care? They're going to be terrible this year and Flacco's not going to be around to beat them for years to come.

Flacco is 40 and had one good game. It would behoove the Browns to guarantee Cincy is better than them to get a better draft pick.
It’s not like they traded them Myles Garrett. They traded an old arse qb that had a good game against another mediocre team.
I don’t see how yall survive with how worked up you get over total nothing burgers.

Browns are clearly marked as an organization that has an owner who is completely fine with collecting paychecks.

Many people would simultaneously look bad with the browns and good with the bengals.

This … people get on here and bitch about front office people doing this or not doing that, and don’t stop to think that folks like Berry are, really, just shmucks working for a paycheck like the rest of us. And when you’re working for a paycheck, unless you want to make a stand for principle and walk, you basically do what you’re told to do, when you’re told to do it, because you’ve been told to do it by the person whose signature is on the paycheck.
