Other than losing them, they're pretty easy to manage

If you do custom shirts, hidden button down collars are nice if you're so inclined

Do you prefer the longer ones or the wider ones?

Just remember to take them out before taking your shirts to the dry cleaners.

Collar stay with magnets to keep the collar tight.

Quite the opposite, actually.

High quality shirts don't need collar stays. Soft and natural looking is a sign of quality materials/labor.

Same with a jacket's shoulder. You know why all that padding is in there? It's less about adding structure/bulk and more about the skill ($$) it takes to tailor a jacket with a proper shoulder - cheaply made suits just shove padding in there and call it a day.

None of this is true.

Wurkin Stiffs collar stays are the best I’ve found. Bought the short and long 3 packs years ago and still have them. They’re metal and have a magnet you can use on the backside to position your collar exactly where you want it.

Can someone post a picture of what this looks like? In spite of a couple of decades of wearing suits, vacillating between using and not using collar stays, I have no idea what this means.

But those are very casual. Do you ever need to dress more formally?

It's okay if you don't know what you're talking about. Jos A. Bank needs customers too.

I guess i have a couple of older dress shirts with buttons. Over the last 10 years i can count on one hand how many times i have worn a tie. Most of the time its slacks and a sport coat.

But i live in rural America if that helps.
