re: Legal help finding the right lawyer or firm

Whenever someone tells me they want to litigate on principle, I make this VERY clear: Remember when you get the bill that these are your principles, not mine.
I get it, which is why I was trying to find a firm that has done this before with eBay sellers. My thought was they’d have a good sense of what I’d end up spending to see this through. From there I could decide if it’s worth it.

It’s interstate. If you are sure it is fraud and you can back it up, report it to the FBI internet crime division. They handle this stuff all the time.
Might try this, can’t hurt.
Appreciate all the responses. Some really good ideas which is why I posted it here. Thanks fellas

Totally get it. Basically how I feel, although some of the realistic responses point to a dollar amount that I’d just let it go instead of chasing.

Legal help finding the right lawyer or firm
Posted by FlaTiger25 on 2/26/26 at 10:59 am
Hoping an attorney might be able to point me in the right direction finding the right firm.
TLDR version:
In need of finding a lawyer or firm to represent a buyer on eBay (me) to bring action against a seller on their platform.
For more context, here’s the scenario:
I purchased a collectible (2100 dollars) The seller has a large eBay presence in collectibles and is one of eBay’s largest memorabilia sellers which hundreds of perfect ratings.
So I bought this item and later found out the authentication is not real which was guaranteed. Seller is not being accountable. I’ve flagged this to eBay (they did nothing since it was past 30 days). I also caught the seller in a fraud scenario (proof all documented). I turned this over to eBay, their policy is to address with the seller but they will not share per policy with buyer (me) if action was taken against the seller.
The sellers eBay store is still active so clearly eBay didn’t take any action against this seller. I’m guessing it’s because his volume is high and average sale price is high so they are making good money off this seller.
I want to expose this scumbag and keep him from ripping anyone else off. It’s not about the 2k, but the principle. I’d like to bring legal action and at minimum, try to get this guys eBay store shutdown. And perhaps expose eBay if they did in fact not take any action when I reported and shared proof that a high volume seller was pushing some fraudulent items and they knew and did nothing.
From the online research I’ve done regarding bringing legal action, there are multiple suggestions that I need to retain a lawyer that practices within the sellers state (I believe this to be California, but eBay wouldn’t share with me)
I can’t seem to find a firm that has experience dealing with fraudulent sellers, specifically dealing with eBay.
At this point, I’m just trying to find a reputable attorney that has experience in this area of law. Someone that I could discuss the situation in greater detail and determine what options are available and realistic outcome scenarios.
If anyone has experience or can share a referral/ recommendation, I’d be grateful. Thanks

Your taxes are already being withhold by your employer. In theory everyone could not file taxes therefore eliminating the possibility of owing the government more money. But everyone knows this, right?
You know you can block your federal withholdings from being withheld from your paycheck right?
Yes your employer will still submit your earnings on file to the gov, but you can 100% block your withholding. Then up to you if you choose not to file a return. I’m not recommending this, but the ability to do so is there.

Dude, it’s never comfortable resigning from a job, especially one as public facing as their profession. Add in he’s getting on a plane with onlooking pissed and broken hearted fans a couple hundred feet away, and I thought he handled that well.
Give him a few weeks in Baton Rouge and his personality will start to show in interviews.

The amount of morons on this board is something.
What’s worse is the group of pussies that hired that weak despicable man at LSU.
He should have never worked in sports after what he did at Duke.

re: Tre’ Morgan wins minor league Gold Glove- PERFECT fielding percentage

For those that don’t follow, He’s doing really well thus far and I suspect he will have a shot to make the roster next season.
He started at first for their triple A team and hit .276 on the year. Their first base prospect Xavier Isaac whom they drafted in the first round the year prior, spent all last year at first for their double A team.
I’d imagine the Rays are going to end up trading one of these first baseman bc their mlb starter is pretty darn good as well.
Regardless of how this unfolds, Tre has done about as good as you could have hoped for to this point.

Wurkin Stiffs collar stays are the best I’ve found. Bought the short and long 3 packs years ago and still have them. They’re metal and have a magnet you can use on the backside to position your collar exactly where you want it.

Anyone thinking Trump will be compromised In this is going to be sadly let down in my opinion.
Trump has been playing misdirection for 10 years to force what he views important to the forefront.
I think this is a setup that’s going to backfire for dems. It started with no democrats interested in seeing anything related to Epstein released.
Then,
Pam Bondi leaks there’s a list
Then
Kash and Bongino say there’s nothing
Then
Trump says there’s nothing there
Then
Elon says Trumps on the list
AND NOW every freaking democrat wants info released and the media is wanting it as well after very little reporting on this for years. And Trumps not fighting it, just continuing to keep his position of its nothing.
I think they’ve managed to bring this to light while making it the democrats idea.
If trump were complicit, it long would have come out prior to this and he’d be done. Trump is not stupid, he knows his base is never going to let this go.
Perhaps I’m wrong but I think this will end up having the opposite effect that dems think it’s going to have and at the end of this, many more people will be awoken. We’ll see
