Why haven’t most hotels moved to just having smart TVs where people could use their current subscriptions to watch what they want. The cost saved in hotels not paying for the local cable service would recoup costs in no time.

Also, why do hotel rooms still have phones and alarm clocks?

Every one I've stayed in does. Do you mean Motels?

A lot of places do exactly what you’re asking.

I don’t remember the last hotel that I’ve stayed in where this wasn’t an option.

Most of the bigger branded hotels (Hilton, Marriott, IHG, etc.) have already moved in this direction or will be because it's now a brand requirement. Phones in rooms is also a requirement due to safety standards. Alarm clocks still remain but are rarely used by guests from my experience.

Some hotels may be behind on their smart TV upgrade due to cable wiring throughout the hotel. Streaming capabilities for a hotel that has not upgraded to CAT6 could cause issues with picture/streaming quality depending on the size of the property.

I stay in Marriotts or Holiday Inns 2-3 weeks out of the month. While some do, most don’t.

I like the phones in the rooms. You can order room service, call the front desk, request housekeeping all with different buttons. Come on. That's good technology.

I would say most do, some do not. The mandate was put out this year that all properties upgrade to 55" TVs.

You may be staying in a lower brand under the Marriott umbrella that the operator is behind on updating.

Even those will be upgraded to Smart TVs shortly.

Haven't stayed in one in a long time that didnt have a Smart TV. Classified as Lifetime Platinum Elite though.

You try to feign as some high society executive and then make a thread like this. Stay in something nicer than a staybridge in your fake life

The first thing I check is to see if the guest before me left their account logged in. Second step is browse the PPV pron.

One of the reasons that they have phones in the rooms is for notifying people of evacuation orders, especially hearing-impaired people. A flashing light on the phone alerts the hearing impaired to contact the front desk or evacuate the room. If there is a evacuation order for the hotel, every room will have the phone ring with a pre-recorded evacuation message.

I bring a firestick to every hotel and depending if the kids are with us, a playstation too. I do whatever I want.

I'm also not a pussy that complains about the amenities of Holiday Inn or posts pics of Brett Favre's dick on the golf board

A lot of hotels have streaming available however, the interface leave a lot to be desired. I often get tired of fricking with it and just stream on my laptop if that is what I want to do.

Most hotels i stay in have smart tvs. But remember to clear the settings when come so he next person can't use your account. Last few trips i used some randos Netflux that was left on tv.

Don’t stay in shitty motels and you wouldn’t have that problem.

I’d blow my head off. How talentless do you have to be to go on the road 75% of the time. What a horrible way to live.
