I think more people would stay for the full games if kickoff was earlier.

I like night games as much as the next guy. But these “7pm” kickoffs where the first snap isn’t actually until like 7:25pm is a bit much. Then you add in the classic 4 hour ABC commercial-ridden broadcast + contra flow and you are looking at not getting back to your house until midnight. And that is assuming you live in BR and not coming from Nola or Laffy.

I love the 3:30 NFL start time or even the 2:30 CFB start time after daylight savings, especially later in the fall. It’s basically night time by the second half anyways, so you get that “night game” experience. You get home at a reasonable time so fans aren’t dying to leave and beat traffic.

Not to mention in this scenario you aren’t obligated to tailgate for like 8 hours before the game even starts.

And no, I’m not some old boomer bitching. I’m in my 20s and still ripe for some A rate pussy as you would expect.

So now the fanbase has gotten so soft that we complain about primetime kickoffs

Your beef is with it taking 240 minutes for 60 minutes of football. Not the kickoff time

More people would stay if the product was entertaining and it didn’t take five hours for the game to be completed.

The TV broadcasters have made the in stadium experience miserable along with destroying all the conferences.

The fans were here when:

We had two uniforms
We had the band play more
We didn’t have a DJ

All facts.

Maybe the people that have money are the old heads and they are tired of the new shite. You see those yellow seatbacks? They used to fill them.

Enjoy pushing more fans out. The traffic has always been bad.

Enjoy making g fun of me with a “get off my lawn” but empirical data is right.

I learned something new last weekend. I would guess most of the problem is the traffic. My family member who is a die hard lsu football fan left the game at halftime(lol bc of traffic). I don’t understand it. Can’t fathom going to a game just to not see it all the way through. Night game atmospheres are amazing but I think a lot of people leave because they don’t want to get home at midnight. Day games will not solve it because that cuts into tailgating. Truly think traffic is impossible to fix because of the infrastructure. With all that said fans leaving early is not a problem for top 10 matchups. But how many are those every year?

Kickoff time has zero effects on the 50 - yard - line- cocktail - party crowd. They'll still leave when they've been "seen". And TV controls all kickoff times, not LSU.

I did see people starting to leave before the game was over. But even when I got back to my car in the Golf Course lot, it still took a while for me to get out of there. Once I got on Gourrier and Burbank though, it wasn't too bad. Just had to find the right road to get me on I-12 out of there.

If kickoffs were at 11:00AM, crime would be down. The turds probably don’t show up until the afternoon.

People stay for close games and good opponents.

This shite is being talked about because of South Carolina fans saying they were disappointed in the atmosphere. That was barely ever a game. Go ask them about the 2012 game when they were #3 in the country and they had 200 yards to our 400. Insanely Loud.

I live in South Carolina. Most delusional fanbase I have ever met. They have played football for like 115 years and have 2 10-win seasons. We absolutely dominated that game.

Guess all those false starts had nothing to do with the crowd. Go watch the Delane pass breakup, shite was loud AF. Then we get a few first downs and ppl leave. No reason to stay. Against any opponent that has a chance to win ppl stay.

Game atmosphere has gone down. I leave when sttdb starts. I haven’t yet but, I think I’ll give up my season tickets after having them for over 15 years and growing up a fan. I’ve always looked forward to the next season as soon as the last season ended and read all about anything lsu football during the off season. I guess times change.

Light weight.

I don’t get back to NWLA until around 3:30am. Stay in stadium until the band plays the Alma Mater then head out. I happily do it every time we go down to a game.

This is the most sad post I have seen on here ??

Reality is, when you only play 1-2 close games a year who cares if you leave. What is the funniest…this is the definition of being spoiled, but yet we get mad about that. We are spoiled. We also show up and show out when needed. But it is seldom
