They were there for a patriotic, good time... at least those like the ones in this clip. They wanted to be a part of something, have their voices heard. I sincerely doubt they were there for a "violent insurrection".

Breaking into the capitol building and then trying to bust your way into a secure area of the building where elected officials are sheltering from an enraged mob…then ignoring lawful commands from the security aiming firearms at you, ordering you to stop… and you STILL try to bust your way through….
That’s the biggest FAFO moment of all time. She ate a bullet because she let the mob mentality override her better judgement and plain common sense.
