Anyone fished Disneyworld property? Taking a guide to go fishing next month.

Booked a tour with the family.
I booked it for 4 hrs instead of 2. I'm not sure if that's a mistake with a 7 year old.

I hope you catch everything from Peacock bass to large mounth and any other fish you’ve ever wanted to catch.
While my wife took my daughters to a pottery class, Itook my son fishing today and we caught 37 Bream on Hilton Head Island and he had a freaking ball.

I've never been but there is a WDW Facebook page (like 1m active users) that posts about it every now and then. It sounds like one of those places you catch them every other cast until your arm wears out. Should be fun.
I've seen some pics of 9-10 pounders.
I mean, imagine a 80 acre lake, mid Florida, fully stocked, unlimited resources, and only a few people get to fish it.

I’ve been 3 times on the guided Disney trips.
It all depends on which guide you get.
The first time we fished for 4 hours and absolutely smashed them. Like caught 40 to 50 bass and a bunch in the 3 to 5# range.
The second trip was also a 4 hr trip.
We only caught 5 fish the whole trip. It was terrible.
The 3rd trip was a 2hr trip. It was decent but not great. We caught 7 to 8 fish with the biggest being around 4#

You really think only a few people are fishing a Disney lake? It gets fished every single day. Not saying it’s not good fishing but it’s hardly a place only a few people fish.

We were given the option of using artificial or shiners.
We tried both. Get a lot more bites on the shiners.
The lakes are fished hard. A lot of the fish had marks where they had been caught and released.
You got to think, they are taking fishing trips 365 days a year.

we didn't fish with a guide but when we went to disney our then 5 year old son, caught a 3lb bass while I was unpacking. all he wanted to do was fish

Yes I have. Booked a half day with Capt Dave. It was in a lake where we launched at the Yacht Club. We didn’t catch monsters but we caught good fish nonetheless and non stop.

I’ve done it before. Pretty badass catching bass in the center of Epcot. The guide wanted to use shiners the whole time but once he saw I could handle a spinning reel, he was cool with me throwing artificial.

My Ex and here family were BIG disney people. I've never done it, but I've peered into the lagoons and stared at the blue gill and bass in there many times.
For me, that would be the ONLY reason to visit Disney..

We booked a guide while there this past June. Absolutely smoked them. Plenty of fish to be caught and yall will catch your fill - no doubt in my mind.

When we were there last year for Christmas toward the front left of Epcot in the lake there was an area we were walking over a bridge and there were about dozen bass I could see. None looked smaller than 4 pounds to me with several looking quite a bit bigger and it looked like they were on beds. I am going back this year around the same time anybody want to share roughly what the cost is?

Yeah, I booked it with Disney. It includes cold drinks, a guide, bait, tackle and rods. You can use shiners or artificial. We are taking a pontoon boat.
It's per boat, not per person. So you can go by yourself or bring up to 4 more people.

No doubt the main lake and lagoon by magic kingdom has to have some monsters.

I remember the fish food feeders at port New Orleans, where you could feed the bream. Don’t know if you can fish that part of their navigation system, but remember looking under the shade of those boat docks by those feeding areas and the size of the bass was incredible…Part shade, part having kids throwing food to the bream, made for a nice spot, wanted to find a rod and reel…
