I have an old shingle roof that is at the end of it's life and I’m planning to get a new roof for my house, preferably metal. I’ve gotten quotes from Garcia Roofing and Samayoa Roofing, and both came in around the same price. I also received a quote from Premier South, but it was almost three times higher and way out of my budget.

Has anyone had any experience with Garcia or Samayoa? I’d love to hear how the work turned out, how well they communicate, and if they stand behind their warranty. I met with Edgar from Samayoa, and he was very nice and informative, but I’d like to hear from anyone who’s worked with them before.

Also, if you have any recommendations for other roofing companies in Ascension Parish that do quality metal roofs, please share! TIA

Edgar came to my house to assess damage after a hail storm and seemed like a decent guy. His opinion was that the damage wasn't enough to file an insurance claim. Seemed pretty honest to me as other companies were trying to get me to sign agreements with them.

The owner of tri21 roofing posts here and also seems like a decent person.

After that hailstorm, seemed like premier south replaced a lot of roofs in my neighborhood. I spoke with a rep from premier south and decided I didn't want to do business with them when he said "I can get you a roof".

I used Garcia roofing, I did standing seam metal because this is the one and done home, however they were similar price from other quotes, offered interest free financing for a year which I needed sort of because I had some shares to cash out a few months later so I paid it off about 4 months later,,,,,they guy I dealt with was very responsive, when he said the workers would be there they were, they showed up early in the morning and worked sometimes until 8pm, cleaned up every day, swept the areas with magnets,,,,,there was one day there was some rain and there was a small leak and they jumped on it quick I have no complaints

Used Tri21 recently was responsive and professional. Also came in lower than other roofing companies. Owner on site during and after roof was completed.

What did they charge you per square for standing seam?

Garcia fricked up my new standing seam metal roof so bad they had to completely rip it off and start over, then had to redo another 50% a third time.

No supervision of their Latino labor, very little technical knowledge all around. The only positive is they did keep showing up after all the screw ups and losing money. Final quality is marginal, but functional.

They’re probably better at traditional shingle.
