CBK has a lot of blame placed on him but damn, JJ fumbles at goal line, Nuss intercepted at goal line, Nuss overthrows wide open WR (interception), and USCe breaks long run for only TD.
Now Kelly gets criticized or crucified in all aspects of media and especially forum (Rant) but these are not mistakes of the Coach. Tackling can be worked on but it is Sellers, Nuss looked better physically but still, threw 2 interceptions, thew behind TreyDez on the 4 (FG). In a perfect world the score is 38-10 or nick picky 38-3.
The score in reality 20-10 SEC win let’s move on. Look at the college football world it’s crazy. CBK is going to get dogged no matter what, regardless. At the beginning of the year if you say week 7 we’re 5-1 ranked top 10 wins against Clemson, Florida, and South Carolina with one UGLY loss to the #3 team in the Country- we’d all take it honestly. This SEC sht is real it’s a slobber knocking fist fight and at least we’re still in the fight. No matter how it looks.

whose job is it to acquire talent, coach them up, instill discipline in them, and put the best players on the field?

I just finished the game. This is the best the offence has looked to me. Nuss looked more like himself. Was it perfect not at all but, we should have blown USCe out.

Defense is legit.

I'll be glad to see him gone, we invest way too much in him, on a side note, did they point out two SC players in their seventh year of cfb last night?

If Kaleb Jackson can't be you back inside the 1 yard line than he needs to be replaced on the roster

Not when the season started which I stated clearly. Clemson#4, USCe#12 and Florida #11. CBK has nothing to do with that but beating them. Thanks for playing HairySnatch

This was TreyDez’s fault, not Nuss.

Kelly will be fine without you white knighting for him. He makes a cool 10 million a year to make a bunch of excuses. I agree about one thing. I am letting the season play out to judge the progress or lack of progress by the team. My expectations are low moving forward though. Hoping for the best but preparing for disappointment, but we will see.

Kelly is 5-9 vs ranked opponents at LSU. But it's definitely the players' fault.

He had serious RBF throughout the game, but I cannot blame him. The team showed progress, but was far from mistake free football.

I am hopeful for this team come together AND do big things. Geaux Tigers.

I don't quite agree - coaching plays a large part in the discipline and preparedness of players for tough games, as well as being prepared to adjust in-game when needed.

That said, I'm hopeful that things are trending up. As bad as the OM loss was, it could have been MUCH worse. I've been dogging our OL's inability to block 3-4 DL all season, but I'm seeing improvement in the offense.

Mistakes? Sure, they're there. I'm not discounting the three turnovers (almost four), but if you look at the overall offense beyond those plays the offense is definitely moving forward.

- Running game? Better.

- OL? Still giving up pressure, but not nearly as much against a future NFL DE as they would have a few weeks ago. Plus Nuss had more time in the pocket to move through his progressions.

- Nuss? Made a couple of boneheaded plays, but overall made progress where we've all been screaming for it. He actually RAN for positive yards, even on a gimpy ankle. Much more zip on the ball than in previous games. He also got the ball out on passes much faster so the OL doesn't have to hold up for as long. And he finally may have found his replacement security blanket in Green (like Taylor ended up being for him last year).

- Green had his coming out party. The one bad throw from Nuss wasn't the QB's fault, Green wasn't supposed to break inside and Nuss threw where Green was supposed to be. His first TD in the corner where Nuss threw it 3 feet above his 6'7" head was a thing of beauty and virtually undefendable. Hopefully we see more of that in the coming weeks.

Overall, was it perfect? Hell no. Was it even good? Debatable. But if anyone says we haven't made positive progress then they haven't watched the game. Defense was absolutely elite, and if you take away that one fluke 70+yd run for a TD we shut down a pretty potent offense.

My hope is that BK is building up to peak at the right time - the next three games will tell us whether or not the SC game was a fluke or the start of something good.

We’d need to see it even tried before we can judge it. It’s bizarre to have an athletic 240 pounder and never once use him in short yardage especially with the struggles in that department.
