What are your favorite spots to run in Baton Rouge?
Treadmills at the gym get old fast.
I’m sick of my neighborhood.
The lakes are have been done so much and right now it’s a disaster.
Any good spots?

North Baton Rouge. You’ll learn to run fast dodging gunfire.

Other neighborhoods? I can usually get 3 miles in the Garden District(start at City Park), Capitol Heights, Webb Park area, Sevenoaks area, Tara, or Southdowns (I used to park at the catholic church).
Longer runs might mishmash some areas.
When I marathon trained a million years ago, one time I ran from LSU to Tara and back to log 20 miles.
I used mapmyrun to map routes but there may be better options now.

When I’m visiting I run through Oak Hills and Quail Ridge to Highland Road park. Run around the park a few times and play a little human Frogger across Highland road to the trails back there. Watch out for gators.

Running is horrible exercise overall due to stress on your joints. Do low impact.

I ran the lakes.
Best run was the lakes during Katrina and Gustave.
Loved to cross over Nicholson and go down to the vet school then back through the campus.

Jim Fixx, the author of the best-selling book The Complete Book of Running, died of a heart attack in 1984 while jogging.
The story of Marathon, Greece, centers on the 490 BCE Battle of Marathon, where the Athenian army defeated a Persian invasion, and the legendary run of the messenger Pheidippides who carried the news of victory to Athens. After running the roughly 26-mile distance, he famously declared "Rejoice, we have won!" before collapsing and dying from exhaustion.
Running is bad for your health.

Every city I’ve ever been too has some sort of nice hike/bike trails that go for several miles and connect to other hike/bike trails.
Baton Rouge has absolutely nothing. They have the ‘lakes’ which were glorified mud holes but the shite trail around them wasn’t even 3 miles.

Port Hudson state park for a once in a blue moon trail run. Sidney Hutchison park in Walker. When Sullivan Rd. Is done, I'll be able to cover a large area in Central.

When I’m in BR? A treadmill.
Air quality in BR is terrible.
