The two shootings follows three separate Friday night shooting incidents related to high school football events in the state.
According to Hinds County Sheriff and Interim Jackson Police Chief Tyree Jones, a shooting occured Saturday near the tailgate section of the Jackson State University stadium on West Street.
The shooting happened the day of Jackson State University's homecoming game.
Jones said a child was injured and transported to the University Mississippi Medical Center by Jackson Police Department officers in a patrol vehicle.
Spokesperson for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety Bailey Martin said the child was shot in the abdomen.
There were also reports of cars being damaged in a fire near the stadium about an hour earlier before the shooting.
The Jackson Fire Department also confirmed that at least four cars were damaged around Saturday 6:15 p.m. during a fire near the stadium. The incident occurred at the old Farmers Market on Woodrow Wilson Avenue. The department reported that when units arrived at the scene, they were informed the fire started at one vehicle and spread to others.

On the Leland shooting, it was being reported on by some shitlib white girl fresh out of DSU with a degree in DEI or something, and she called it a mass shooting like it was some pre meditated massacre.
No girl, it ain’t that deep. These folks were just in the sauce, loitering outside a club on Main Street in Leland and one of them likely just popped off to another one, and they had more hits than misses this time around due to the number of bystanders.

And the Jackson state people got all butt hurt a few weeks ago when southern Miss came out with a pregame statement about fan behavior and treating fans with respect
