When the Waffle House can’t let people eat inside late night.

Never Forget!….

A to-go fee? Why would a to-go order cost them more when no customers are entering the building?

This country keeps finding more and more ways to frick the working man. What about the bartender that wants a decentish meal that gets off at 2am? or the plant worker?

Add in all the credit card fees, and convenience fees, and shrinkflation and even the barrel assed cops waiting at speed traps during commute times. It sums up to one big frick you to the people keeping this country going and all the while life is getting easier and easier for the takers.

I’m assuming these are two separate situations. The to-go only is for safety at a specific location & the to-go fee is for takeout orders at normal locations.

In the latter, Waffle House has designed their kitchen to handle the calculated demand of the restaurant. Too many takeout orders would create inefficiencies in the line cooking process. They have determined a 20% markup to be the point that will allow for operations to continue successfully.

I've personally witnessed a black tranny beat a dude's arse in a Waffle House. I could swear there was a video of a similar situation some years back... Must be a fairly regular occurrence.

What did the dude do to deserve your beating his arse?

You are correct, but we all know that a couple boxes, a bag, and some utensils cost about $0.25 max.
It’s funny cause places that do this won’t charge someone for a couple to-go boxes that ate inside the restaurant. It’s a bad business model imo. Just raise the prices of everything by $0.03 and it’ll cover those costs without giving the customer a reason to go someone else. Just my opinion.

Nah baw, you got this all wrong. This is to accommodate more seating for the fights outside, while also maintaining sales and avoiding insurance liability.

In the to-go scenario they are saving on not needing employees washing utentils, or cleaning up after customers and the bathrooms.

Possibly even saving more than the cost of the box/bag which is only a few cents in bulk.

ETA: I misread your response. I agree it's about 3 cents

If restaurants start charging a 20% “to go fee” then I’ll just start going in to eat and not leave a tip at all. They can get fricked

How is that hurting the restaurant? Seems misplaced blame.

2020 was the tipping point and I think we may never really recover. The floor got lifted, and half the nation cant afford to live here anymore.

My wallet is my only concern. It’s why I rarely go in to eat anywhere because I don’t like to tip. But if they’re going to remove that choice for me then my only option is to go in and not tip. I don’t care if “it hurts the server not the restaurant”. The server is a representative of the restaurant and their livelihood isn’t my concern

part of the 20% is a tip for,the waitress. My 14 year old asked me if she could change her order after it was placed. I said only if you want spit in your food or maybe get shanked.
