If I was going to get a gun to suppress, tell me the positives and negatives here? I’d like a suppressed and quiet AR this winter and the cost to shoot the 9mm is pretty enticing.

Inb4 why not both I guess

What are you wanting to do with it?

.300 can shoot supers out to 100-150yds or more.

9mm is a 100yd weapon at the most and won’t do that well.

Are you looking at an SBR?

You can pick 1 suppressor that’ll take both of those calibers.

Ex: Dead Air Mojave 9.

9mm will be much cheaper to shoot.

300blackout will be a crap ton more versatile.

not an AR but I have a mossad suppressor on on an Uzi model B and it is a hoot. Super quiet and incredibly cheap to shoot. I bought a bucket of 9MM subs for peanuts and probably will never shoot them all

For 9mm i prefer the subgun platform over an AR. Check out the SP5, MPX, APC9, Scorpion, Kuna, etc. As others have said, get both, you won’t regret it.

I bought one of those Extar’s after seeing them pop up on Honest outlaw reviews. For as many guns that I have I’m lacking in the fun category.

300 BO is much more versatile. I shoot subsonic underwood 194 gr extreme expansion for hogs. I have killed out to 125 yards. If I had to have one it would be 300BO.

If I was going 9mm route I would get a MP5 platform. I have a Zenith ZP5K and it’s the tits. It’s my bedside gun. I run it with a Tirant9 can.

Can also shoot it in indoor ranges that don’t allow rifle calibers (if that matters to you).

Consider Palmetto State Armory’s ARV 9. A family member bought one at about $700. He loves it. Looks good feels good.

I don’t have that many guns and the versatility is what first turned me on with 300BO, but in reality it makes very little sense for me. I’d rather use another gun to hunt with. If I want to shoot supers why not just suppress a .308 or something else I have? If I just want it for fun to shoot subs, 9mm just seems MUCH cheaper and therefore more fun?

I think I prefer an AR platform so I could practice with that platform? But I’ll look at the other options I suppose.

BTC APC has AR controls save for the charging handle.

It’s so much fun but so is the H&K SP5k
