Want a good one that collects the grass in the bag instead of blowing it in my face like my cheap Toro. Cutting Zoysia

Echo has a 21" model with a 190cc B&S, probably the best buy since Echo has a 5-year consumer warranty.

You shouldn’t be cutting the grass, have your husband do it.

I used to have crappy centipede and dirt like you do. That isn't pushing. Had enough fun pushing through Zoysia this year

Greenworks 60V 21" cut - don't get self propelled. Without a gas engine it is easy to push. Bag with it

Yeah I have been thinking about getting a light electric push mower with no SP because they are so nimble. Always waiting for a can’t miss sale but I suppose I keep missing them.

If you really need SP just as a means of covering area, you may be better off with a rider. But I guess you said thick grass, so I understand you just want to make that easier. I would just get something on sale if I were you, some of these things $600+ seems a little crazy to me when you can get something with the same motor for half price.

My setup is a reel mower 1-2x a week and rider 1-2 every two weeks. The reel keeps it manageable, the rider takes down stragglers and mulches.

My reel mower is a POS from HD that isn’t capable of cutting very low, and my rider is a 48v lead acid I got for $2k at Sam’s and planned to get a refund after it crapped out, but it’s held up fine 75% through the extended warranty.

I’ll give you fair warning to not buy a greenworks anything. It’s a cheap electric mower and you will be pissed in 6 months. Battery degradation happens fast. They’ll send you another and the same will happen. Eventually they won’t warranty anymore. Close to $300 dollars to purchase. If you miss a cut it will barely get through the grass especially zoysia. It’s just not a good mower.

I just ordered a Masport rotarola. But I’m a little off when it comes to my yard. My John Deere 220 reel just kicks my arse in the summer.

Check out some of the other masport products. They make a nice mower. A little on the pricey side but solid.

That's a dumb way to look at it. My backyard is pretty decent size and flat but my front yard is relatively tiny so either way I'd be using a push mower. Probably takes 45 minutes to mow everything with my Honda HRN, mower is fast enough to go at a range walk. I was looking at 30" walk behinds but they don't actually save as much time in practice as advertised. A smaller stand-up zero turn would be ideal but no way could I justify that kind of purchase.

For the OP, don't leave out a cheap gas push mower option, I have a Craftman I picked up at a pawnshop for $80 a few years ago, my fiancée uses it when she mows. Very light weight, no SP, maybe only a 4hp Powermore engine but with a sharp blade it cuts well and my fiancée can't tear up the SP on my Honda...

Reading lot of good reviews about Honda. Would have to find a place that still has some. Crazy they stopped making them.

They were great until the last models with the GCV170 engines, lot of problems with those engines. If I had the time I'd setup a home shop just to refurbish Honda HRN and HRX mowers, they are easy enough to rebuild and even if the motor was too far gone but the deck was good I'd just repower with a Kohler, Kawsaki, or Yamaha.

Echo's version is 141lbs but still not something I'd want maneuver around my front yard so I'd still be using two different mowers.

Look at the Stihl line of mowers. I love mine. Kohler engine and built well.

Order one online from Home Depot. I did this year. Delivered to my house. It'll come with a green dot sticker on the box indicating it had been factory repaired for the recall on the camshaft.

They're still out there but are getting fewer and fewer.

Its got twin blades and cuts my zoysia very fine compared to my old single blade Honda powered Craftsman.

I'm on year 5 and not had one single issue. I use it twice/week summer. Makes my lawn the talk of the neighborhood.
Your assessment couldn't be any more polar opposite.

Ego has been running some good deals through Ace, Lowes and Amazon. Some you have to sign up for a cash back website like rakuten, but last week they had 25% cash back on Ego from Ace plus everything was on sale.

I have had ego for years, I love the self propelled, especially when the bag gets full that sucker can get heavy and without the weight on front the self propelled helps keep it balanced. I find it cuts better with the bag on but most of my Yard is cut by a robot so I only have to hit my water banks and around the garden.

I have 4 batteries and only one dud, ego replaced it easily. The others that are several years old are still running strong.

Can you elaborate on this? I was considering getting a 30" for next year. I have about 10000 sqft of grass and I currently use a Honda hrn.
