So far through 5 series in the postseason dude has been worse than a lot of guys that have to wear the “they suck in October” collar. Ohtani seems to avoid it

Cause he hasn’t lost and his “stink” is better than the average mlb player

Thank God he can pitch.

ETA: and hit home runs. Lots of home runs.

You wouldn’t play that well if you bet the shite out of the under either

.214Avg—.745 OPS

Is that actually better than average?

If and when the Dodgers are eliminated and his numbers never improved.

He has stunk it up at the plate during this series. So many strikeouts.

But so far though 6 games this year - 2 hr, 5 rbi. Got a quality start and a win on the mound in game one of the Phillies series.

Plus the Dodgers have been winning.

They should've pitched to him rather than intentional walk loading the bases.

I've seen non-stop talking about it on social media.

I think what needs to be talked about more than his performances, good or bad, is that he seems to be a scumbag.

His kryptonite is low and away off speed stuff from a lefty. Always has been. He strikes out a ton.

Phillies staff is lefty dominant and matched up very favorably against him.

This result was unfortunately predictable.

Bonds used to stink it up in postseason play until around that Angels world series and he started orbiting nukes. I’m sure it will click for Ohtani soon.

It tends to take a little heat off the guy at the plate when, in the same game, he can walk out to the mound and get you 9Ks, 6 innings, and a quality start.

This right here. He could be cold at the plate for the rest of the playoffs but if he keeps delivering at the mound then there's no legitimate "stinking in the playoffs" argument to be made. He's still doing something literally no other player is doing.

Last year he didn’t pitch and he did poorly as well

He hit .105 on the WS

His overall playoff stats are now .205 AVG and .720 OPS
