Shutdown narrative: what happened to “illegals getting healthcare”?

I noticed a shift in GOP messaging.

I don’t hear a peep about illegals getting healthcare anymore. Seemed like a winning message backed up by fact.

Now messaging appears to be about military and federal workers not getting pay.

Thoughts on the change?

The Democrats are saying "Undocumented Don't Get Healthcare" but they consider all immigrants as documented.

Another play on words for the idiots

I noticed it also. It's like they think illegal immigration is fixed now.. I don't like it and they need to beat that horse to death.

The Democrats are at war. The GOP is not.

Plus, don't forget that Mass Media will propagate the Democrat narrative without regard for Truth, or Honesty or Accuracy. Dems know this.

When you have WON the Psy-War, you have won.

It was never a true statement. The fight has always been about Affordable Care Act subsidies, and those only go to American citizens and immigrants who have been granted permanent residency. (Those subsidies are not even available to asylum seekers and people on temporary protected admission status.)

The shift is due to republicans realizing that eliminating the subsidies would be devastating for Americans.

It's basically an admission that Democrats are right to hold the line on this issue.

Affordable Care Act

The Affordable Care Act has made insurance so unaffordable that the only entity that can pay for it is the one entity that doesn’t have to balance its budget.

This was always where the ACA was going to end up. It was the design of the ACA.

Look up the California Loophole that many Blue States are using. It’s a Shell Game that the ignorant masses (looking at you) can’t wrap their heads around. So states are draining state taxes to pay for immigrants and then refilling those coffers with Federal Money. One way or another tax payers are paying!

this is a fricking lie. How many times do I need to point you to NEW YORK's website and show that ILLEGALS can apply for Medicaid if they meet the age requirement.

You are a lying sack of shite.

Is the strategy that if y'all act all angry and violent, you can pass your ignorance off as truth?

How about we look at federal law, which provides as follows:
quote:

(3) Access limited to lawful residents
If an individual is not, or is not reasonably expected to be for the entire period for which enrollment is sought, a citizen or national of the United States or an alien lawfully present in the United States, the individual shall not be treated as a qualified individual and may not be covered under a qualified health plan in the individual market that is offered through an Exchange.

42 U.S.C.A. § 18032(f)(3)

My statements are confirmed by federal law. What are your statements based on?

You are being either disingenuous (like democrat politicians) or willfully ignorant:

quote:

Blue states, especially California, have expanded state-funded health coverage to undocumented immigrants by exploiting policy flexibility that some critics label the “California loophole”. The core of this loophole centers on using a Medicaid provider tax, which enables the state to draw down federal matching funds intended for Medicaid and pool them with state dollars to subsidize the costs of broader healthcare programs, including coverage for undocumented residents. However, federal law strictly prohibits federal funds from being used for non-emergency medical care for undocumented immigrants; only emergency Medicaid reimbursements are permitted for low-income individuals regardless of status.[foxnews +3] Provider Tax Mechanism The “provider tax” is a state-levied fee on hospitals and health care providers that is used to maximize federal Medicaid matching funds. Some claim California then uses these pooled funds to pay for care extended to undocumented immigrants, effectively bypassing the apparent federal restriction by not segregating state and federal money at the point of expenditure. Despite these allegations, state officials and health policy experts dispute this, asserting that all non-emergency care for undocumented immigrants is funded strictly from state coffers, not from federal Medicaid matching dollars.[yahoo +3] Adoption by Other States Inspired by California, at least eight blue states (including Illinois, New York, Oregon, and Washington) have adopted similar expansions, offering Medicaid-style coverage for certain groups of undocumented immigrants, but these programs are also funded by state, not federal, money to avoid running afoul of federal law. Some states are now reevaluating this approach due to rising costs and budget pressures, proposing to freeze new enrollments or introduce premiums for immigrant adults as a cost-containment measure.[latino.ucla +2] Controversy and Limitations There is significant political debate over whether these states’ creative budget maneuvers truly constitute a “loophole.” Critics argue that broad provider tax pools make it functionally impossible to track the source of funds for each healthcare claim, creating ambiguity about whether federal dollars indirectly subsidize care for undocumented immigrants. Supporters argue health coverage expansions promote public health and economic stability, and clarify they are not violating federal statutes since emergency care funding is the only federal coverage provided.[bbc +3]

Blue States are playing a shell game with our money to fund their illegals.

Can you point to the language in what you quoted that relates to ACA insurance premium subsidies?

Almost becoming a waste of time voting for RINOs any longer.

This is not the sole point of contention for the Democrats.

They also want Trump’s Medicaid cuts reversed from the BBB.

But you knew that and are hoping no one here did.

Because you’re a lying sack of shite.

Once again you are being completely disingenuous. That is one factor but Republicans want to stop the Californian loophole. In fact the Republican Leadership said let’s talk about how to fix the intentional broken system implemented by Black Jesus but not via a government shutdown. What is wrong with that. I mean my healthcare since ObamaCare was implemented has gotten worse while my premium's have 4Xed. What is “Affordable” about that crap?

Remember, Barry said "We're all in this together". Will never forget it. That's when I knew the game was communism.
