Like most on this Board I was happy to hear that Comey was finally being indicted. Then the very thin indictment came out.

We were told not to worry: a superseding indictment was coming that would add juicy charges. Based on the legal team the DOJ assembled for this case, it now looks to me that this isn't a serious prosecution.

The lead prosecutor on the case, Lindsey Halligan, has never participated in a criminal trial. So, if serious, the DOJ would have brought in seasoned prosecutors to assist. Instead, they brought in two relatively inexperienced prosecutors from the Eastern District of North Carolina.

North Carolina lawyers on Comey Prosecution

The lead defense lawyer, Patrick Fitzgerald, was appointed by George W. Bush as the US Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois and served in that position for more than ten years.

I think this will get ugly very quickly for the prosecution.

Do you understand what’s going on yet?

Let this sink in. Washington is filled with swamp creatures. There is no “draining the swamp”.

No one will ever be actually prosecuted. No one will ever be held accountable.

There are too many piece of shite SlowFlowPro fig gots in that area of the country that hate America.

There will never be justice for these pieces of shite.

Yet, was let in the back door today on a “technicality”.

Hoe hum, they just didn’t “have enough time”.

Get it yet?

There is no such thing as justice in this country anymore. Not for quite awhile actually.

It’s all a fricking game guys, and we are the one’s being played.

Better make sure you file your taxes though. Don’t want to break any laws or anything lol.

Seeing the team the DOJ assembled, that's my guess also.

Comey is no doubt a pretentious, evil prick who tried to sabotage President Trump. I guess the 2022 testimony about his 2017 actions was the only thing they could find that wasn't beyond the statute of limitations.

Having heard all the big talk about what's coming down the road regarding righteous prosecutions and then seeing what a weak prosecution team they chose for this (alleged) first salvo, makes me think that DOJ doesn't have any grand plans.

Hope I'm wrong.

My sources tell me a pillow salesman and a fire suppressant system salesman are about to parachute in and save the day.

I voted for accountability …. legitimate accountability.

But I am not naive … and I lived in DC ‘97- 2000 It was corrupt then … and I cannot even imagine how corrupt it is currently. I’ve kept in touch with friends and neighbors from my time there and they assured it’s as same as it ever was. They say it isn’t safe to go to DC, Annapolis, or Baltimore after dusk.

Bar hopping in Annapolis used to be a favorite pastime….

Could be, I just don't understand the staffing decision by the Trump DOJ. Why not bring in your best federal prosecutor from ANYWHERE in the country? They don't have a better bench than a couple of inexperienced prosecutors from North Carolina?

They’re STILL confirming attorney’s now lol. That’s not by accident. Trump was sworn in on Jan 20

The DOJ seasoned prosecutors said "No reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case."

Have you heard that phrase before?

But, they are real attorneys with real Juris Doctorates from real law schools.

SFP is not a real attorney. He only pretends to be an attorney on the internet. It's cosplay. It's his gimmick. And a select few naive and ignorant people, here, eat it up.

He told us a few weeks ago that churches need permission from the government to hold worship services.

No doubt that's a ridiculous problem, but that applies only to the lead US Attorneys for each district. Surely there are conservative, experienced, trustworthy federal line prosecutors SOMEWHERE in DOJ.

I don’t spend a lot of time worrying about this stuff. Justice has never been even in any society. Even if Comey were to go to jail it want make any of us better off. If it’s revenge you crave understand that Trump winning a second term is as good as you’re going to get. These people tried and failed to destroy the will of the American citizens, and I am happy with that.

If punishment, and the real threat of punishment, is a deterrent, then your conjecture is dead wrong. If Comey committed a crime, as did Hillary, and our action is to let him skate unabated, as we did with Hillary, then there is zero reason for future FBI Directors to avoid doing exactly what 8647Comey did.

Are you including Bondi in "something wrong in DC?" The whole point is that the DOJ isn't limited to federal prosecutors FROM DC or Yankee Virginia. They brought in these inexperienced lawyers from another district, why didn't they bring in EXPERIENCED lawyers from another district?

Despite being a moronic/fake conservative, I was a law clerk for a rock-ribbed, Republican US District Judge in Louisiana. Whenever there was a complicated or high-profile prosecution, the Reagan DOJ (yes I'm that old) wouldn't hesitate to bring in expert prosecutors from far away to try the case.
