13 points off of 8 turnovers is insane

Credit to the advocate for reporting on this, but that has to be a record low for points off turnovers up to this point. The sad thing is, is that 7 of the 13 points is off of a pick six against Florida. Offense has been historically bad in taking advantage of opportune possessions. Have to get it fixed, I’m just not sure that it’s fixable with this offensive staff. Hope to see some new life on Saturday or this season is completely lost as we go deeper into the schedule

Sounds like the defense is playing complimentary football

So six points off of seven turnovers without the pick six.. not exactly efficient offense taking advantage of opportunities. Five interceptions just to squeak by one game we should've been in control of from start to finish.

well, I kind of depends on where we got the ball after the turnover...if we started deep in own our territory, chances are we weren't score any points...

Heavily inflated after 5 INTs in a game where the offense scored 13 pts total. 3 of those came after an INT
So more like 3 points off of 3 turnovers, which still isn’t great
We also missed a 46yd FG after INT against Clemson.
Things like this need context added

no context needed, it's horrendous, but the offense is horrendous so it makes sense.

8 isn’t a lot, so let’s look at all of them.
1. INT at Clemson, 0 pts
8 play drive, 46yd missed FG
2. INT vs Florida at LSU 38, 0 pts
3 & out, Punt
3. INT vs Florida at UF 40, 3 pts
45 yd FG at end of 1H
4. INT vs Florida, 7 pts
Spears pick 6
5. INT vs Florida (touchback), 0 pts
3 & out, Punt
6. INT vs Florida at LSU 37, 0 pts
LSU ran down to the 5yd line & knelt the ball with 1:32 remaining
7. Fumble at Ole Miss at LSU 32, 0 pts
3 & out, Punt
8. INT at Ole Miss at OM 47, 3 pts
6 plays, 48 yd FG
1. INT at Clemson, 0 pts
8 play drive, 46yd missed FG
2. INT vs Florida at LSU 38, 0 pts
3 & out, Punt
3. INT vs Florida at UF 40, 3 pts
45 yd FG at end of 1H
4. INT vs Florida, 7 pts
Spears pick 6
5. INT vs Florida (touchback), 0 pts

Relax bud, Nuss is coming back!

Feels like we’re really complaining about three 3&outs, but we already know the offense has struggled

vs. Clemson
1 INT at the LSU 46. On the ensuing drive LSU gained 25 yards on 8 plays, ultimately ending in a missed FG
vs. Florida
1st INT - returned to LSU 38. On the ensuing drive LSU gained 1 yard on 3 plays before punting
2nd INT - returned to FL 40. On the ensuing drive LSU gained 12 yards on 3 plays before kicking a FG as time expired.
3rd INT - returned for a TD
4th INT - returned to the LSU 36. On the ensuing drive LSU gained 1 yard on 3 plays before punting
5th INT - returned to LSU 37. LSU ran out the clock after that.
vs. Ole Miss
Fumbled recovered in the endzone. LSU started at it's 20. Gained 0 yards on 3 plays before punting.
INT returned to OM 47. On the ensuing drive LSU gained 16 yards on 6 plays before kicking a FG
Summary
LSU only got 1 TO deep in their own territory (fumble vs. Ole Miss). After the 5th INT vs. Florida LSU purposely chose to run out the clock. Removing those two from the mix, LSU's average starting field position following a TO is their own 47 yard line. The offense has turned that into 6 points...TOTAL.

“Pathetic" is appropriate here.

Yeah, this ain't changing significantly in 2 weeks time, esp without any play on the field.
LSU's best case is that the defense continues to handle the pressure its offense places on it, or......
Nuss gets knocked out of the game briefly like in the OK game last year, and emerges from the tunnel determined to do whatever it takes to keep his job and move the offense, even if it includes running with the ball.

Here are the drives
Clemson
Int. LSU Starts at the LSU 46
8 Plays 25 yards Missed FG (46 yard try)
UF
Int. LSU Starts are LSU 38. 3 plays 0 yards Punt
Int. LSU Starts at UF 40 3 plays 12 yards. End of Half
Int - Pick 6
Int. LSU Starts at LSU 20 3 plays 7
yards Punt
Ain’t. LSU starts at LSU 37 - run clock till end of game
Fumble- LSU Starts at LSU 20. 3 plays 0’Tards Punt
Ain’t. Ole Miss 47 6 plays 16 yards FG.
So what do we see.
1. Offense refuses to take the momentum off a turnover.
2. Good not great field position. 2/8 were in opponents side of the field. nothing shorter than 40 to go. Makes since given it’s a lot of picks while they’re passing down field.
only 1 fumble recovery.
3. The offense can’t move the fricking ball.

The problem is it very much can in just two weeks. Change the way you are trying to block in the running game. In 2021, in the span of 2 weeks, LSU went from the worst rushing team in the SEC to one of the best. They didn't overhaul the personnel. They just changed how they were trying to run the ball. TDP set a single game rushing record vs. Florida by basically running the same 3-4 plays over and over again.
The passing game can get better by simply placing more emphasis over the middle of the field. Anderson, Thomas and Brown are tough covers over the middle. Sharp is not bad working the seams/middle. Instead of wasting time with several passes to the boundaries at the LOS, attack the middle. You're not talking about an entirely new playbook. Just a different MO on the plan of attack.

It's the terrible offense. That is your explanation. Kudos to BK.

Posted on 10/8/25 at 1:57 pm to SammyTiger
It cannot do much of anything productive. Unless BK does not follow form, this is what we have.
Posted on 10/8/25 at 3:37 pm to Cargeaux89
I'll never forget that. That sucks we didn't do anything with those.
Posted on 10/8/25 at 3:38 pm to Cargeaux89
Definitely something that we need to take advantage of more. Can't keep coming up with zero or 3 points when forcing turnovers. Need to cash in for more touchdowns.

This is one of the most mind-boggling, disgusting stats I've ever seen. Inexcusable.
