Buccee's is coming to Ruston, along with a new $370 M microchip plant; with the Meta Data center being built over in Richland parish.

Now if Ruston could just land a Costco. People coming from the Bossier/Shreveport and Monroe/ West Monroe areas would surely make it very profitable.

If a Costco came to North LA, it would be fantastic! I doubt they ever do though.

Monroe is still trying to clean out the shite-sicle of Jamie Mayo's nearly two decades of mayoral "leadership". Downtown is already looking less like Mogadishu and Amtrak is going to be stopping behind Doe's (Washington Plaza). Another term or two and Friday Ellis might bring it back to the pre-Abe Pierce era.

#s have to support it. If business and population increases, they'll come.

How many live there? Lafayette has like 260

How long before they tear down Wylie Tower, it's such an ugly eyesore.

I’m not optimistic about these data plants.

The Ouchita sheriff's department and their bullshite, unconstitutional, "check point" are absolutely pumped up for this.

I would kill for a Costco’s, but I’m not holding my breath. They still haven’t even started building the new SuperOne Foods. I’m glad to see Ruston is moving in the right direction as far as attracting business opportunities for our children. I hope it can be a model for other areas within the state.

I agree. What really set back Monroe was the death of Melvin Rambin from cancer just two years after he defeated Abe Pierce for Mayor of Monroe. His untimely death led to Mayo becoming Mayor.

How are they able to have "check points" without being sued?

My dad and I rode out past the new meta data center last week. Most of the roads around Holly Ridge are one step up from dirt roads, but that 4 mile stretch is the smoothest in the state now.

I talked to a Costco manager in Lafayette and he said they’ve run the demographics and there are no plans to open a Costco in the Ruston/Monroe area. Heck I don’t even think Ruston has an Academy

ETA: I passed Tarbutton Rd this weekend and it looked like they have broken ground on Buccees. .
