Why are the right not getting out the message about what the Dems are asking? The Dems are basically asking for everything that Trump and the GOP have done to be undone, including restoring money to NPR and they want the OMB to be unable to make any other cuts going forward. It's wild....from the Senate's website a brief summary. I'll link to the full text. They are out of their minds..... LINK

"This bill provides continuing FY2026 appropriations for federal agencies, permanently extends the expanded premium tax credit for purchasing health insurance, provides additional funding for Medicaid and security for federal officials, and extends various expiring programs.

Specifically, the bill provides continuing FY2026 appropriations to federal agencies through the earlier of October 31, 2025, or the enactment of the applicable appropriations act. It is known as a continuing resolution (CR) and prevents a government shutdown that would otherwise occur if the FY2026 appropriations bills have not been enacted when FY2026 begins on October 1, 2025.

The CR funds most programs and activities at the FY2025 levels with several exceptions that provide funding flexibility and additional appropriations for various programs. For example, the CR provides additional funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and security for federal officials.

In addition, the CR permanently extends provisions that expanded the premium tax credit, which generally reduces premiums for health insurance purchased through a health insurance exchange; repeals health care provisions that were included in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, including provisions that reduced Medicaid funding; authorizes the District of Columbia to spend local funds at the rates included in its FY2026 local budget; extends the availability of certain funds that are being withheld by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB); and limits the authority of OMB to withhold appropriations.

Finally, the bill extends several expiring programs and authorities, including programs related to health care, veterans, homeland security, and agriculture. "

So basically they want to undo the BBB without any actual congressional mandate to do so

Yes, this is what it looks like to me. If the GOP cave on this, Trump's undone before he even got started in a lot of ways.

It’s insane considering it’s not polling well at all for them.

I’m to the point we should just suspend the filibuster unless it’s a real filibuster where they take the floor and speak

Somehow 39% of the people think the GOP are responsible for the shutdown and 30% think the Dims are.

I don't think a lot of people even are aware its shutdown. The military miss their first check on the 15th. The House is out and will not be back until the 13th.

It's costing us 15 Billion a day...fricking stupid the Dims are doing this to country...in the name of far left TDS.

He has done a great job with his delivery vs. Jefferies.

I forgot the government was shut down. Shows you how much they impact my daily life. Sounds like whatever is closed should stay closed and we could put a dent in the deficit.

And it would be just like DC Republicans to do exactly that

Well no it is not. Keep it closed down though as it is saving us way more than 15b a day. The dems made this bed so let them smolder in it.
