Which has been a bigger disaster?
Bill at unc had circus written all over it so not surprising that it’s such a shite show but Carroll seemed like he’d at least be halfway decent for a year or two.

Tom Fornelli had a great line. He said someone needs to tell Bill that in college you can’t tank for the best draft picks.

Pete at Las Vegas. He’s clearly just there for the paycheck.
Belichick was always going to need at least 2 maybe 3 years to get UNC going and after 3 years I think he wants to turn it over to his kid and let him run with it from there.

UNC was in a bowl last year. This year they look like a SWAC quality team in a bad conference. Bill is tarnishing his legacy between this and the off field nonsense.

I'm not buying this. UNC didn't fire a 73 yr old coach who consistently had them in bowl games to hire another 73 yr old coach just for a multi-year rebuild.
The ACC preseason media poll picked them middle of the conference, and they appeared to have a manageable schedule. Hell, someone started a thread this summer saying anything less than 9-3 would be a failure.

I know it’s popular to shite on him because of this season and his GF and all that, but to be fair I think he’s gonna need more than 1 season to get it going at a place like UNC if he’s going to be successful. I feel like the expectations are unrealistic for him

Carrol easy. I’m no Belichick fan at all but I don’t get why everyone is confused they are bad. He was hired AFTER the portal had opened- he had no shot at being good or even decent this year. Almost every first year coach since the transfer portal has under performed- that’s why this year the firings started in September.

I seriously doubt that. I am sure he has enough money to live off of until he is 150. Some of those old frickers only know football and when they get away from it and realize they have nothing to live for, they jump back in

A major piece of being a college head coach is that you are also a representative of your university. In that role, it’s hard to adequately express how completely Belichick has failed. If he just had a bad football team, no one would care long term.
