MSY park and fly

Leaving Friday for vacation and looking for recommendations for park and fly. We will be gone for 6 days. Are these lots fairly safe, or are they known for break ins? Any info is appreciated.

I’ve used the one at the end of Veterans-US Park and never had an issue but lately I’ve been using Uber. It’s roughly the same price and I get to leave my car at my house.

US Park has high fences and security. I can't imagine any break-ins. I've always had a good experience using them.

Economy lot safe but where it really stands out over Park N Fly is the ability to check your bags at the garage and skip the entire terminal.

I find using the airport quicker these days. Just my experience though

The baggage check would be great for the economy lot, but I just looked into it and baggage cannot be checked if it is an international flight, which is what we are. This lot still may be the right choice. Thanks for the input everyone.

I've only used USpark. Never had an issue & have never had to wait more than 2 minutes for shuttle. Join the club for points for free parking.

I use US park a lot. If you go online you can get some good discounts. The shuttle is quick and it's a lot shorter a ride than the economy lot.

Where do you get on the plane?

I use either long or short term covered at the terminal. If you try to reserve a spot, you MUST do it more than 24 hours before the day you fly out. Even if there are spots open.

Same here. Although it is more expensive, short term is super convenient, especially being able to park on Level 4 and walking right into the terminal.

Short and long erm are often full without a reservation. Valet is easiest.

Just returned from a week-long trip and was a bit shocked since I haven't flown in a while to see that it cost nearly $200 for that amount of time in long-term parking there at MSY. How do other park options compare for long-term parking cost? I don't live nearby the airport so Uber isn't an option. I suppose if I were going for more than a week I would be better off renting a vehicle for a day to drop off at the airport and renting again if I could drop off in my home town area.

Long term parking is a rip off.
Short term
Economy
In that order

Thanks....any opinions on Rightway parking? Looks like they use local motels, but only 1 or two have shuttle service looks like.

I’ve never heard of them. Sorry.

Option one is park in short term as long as you need, especially if the company pays. Option two is US Park on Veterans. Option three, which can be option one some days, is uber if you live within 45 minutes.
Long term parking at MSY sucks. The bus drivers are super rude and take forever to get you there. They call it long term because it takes long terms to get to and from your car. Avoid.
Also some hotels out on veterans will sell you weekly parking but there is not much security compared to US park.

If someone is traveling for 5-7 days (and especially if they have a morning flight from MSY), I recommend considering a stay in a hotel that offers free parking and has a free airport shuttle. Back when there was a Hilton Garden Inn Airport, they used to allow a free week of parking with a one-night stay, but that hotel is a Wyndham Garden Inn now, so I don't know if they still do it.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Looks like the Economy and US Park are both around $12 per day which is nearly half of the cost of Long Term parking at the airport!
