Great Movie. One of my favorites but they never really show it anymore.

That movie has so many great, quotable moments?

Gang Member #1: [pointing at a piece of graffiti] Whatcha call that? Bill Foster: Graffiti? Gang Member #1: No, man. That's not fricking graffiti, that's a sign. Gang Member #2: He can't read it, man. Gang Member #1: I'll read it for you. It says this is fricking private property. No fricking trespassing. This means fricking you. Bill Foster: It says all that? Gang Member #1: Yeah! Bill Foster: Well, maybe if you wrote it in fricking English, I could fricking understand it.

Bill Foster: You're Korean? Do you have any idea how much money my country has given your country? Mr. Lee: How much? Bill Foster: I don't know. But it's got to be a lot, you can bet on that.

critical drinker on Falling Down
Drinker's review is one of my favorites.
It's an excellent movie that has only aged better with time.
But it's hard to believe that Joel Schumacher, who also made Batman and Robin, made this flick.

Seems odd to judge him for a lousy comic book flick when he made a bunch of excellent movies.

The reason that movie works so well is that Douglas looks like "everyman" who's been downtrodden by life and has hit his "I DGAF" point in it.
I don't think the movie would have been as good with guys like Vin Diesel, The Rock, Stallone or some other big screen actor with the tough guy image.

I used to watch this movie, and thought Micheal Douglas as a victim.
The older I got, I realized what a crazy the dude was.

It’s available on YouTube. I actually watched 2 days ago.
Great scene when he was in Whammy burger after he popped off a few rounds and the woman threw up. “I think we have a critic Rick”

No, not judging. Just pointing out how wildly different, tonally, movies like Falling Down and The Client were from some of Schumacher's other movies.

Love this movie but good luck finding it.

"This stuff was used!!"
"And now you're going to die, wearing that stupid little hat!"
"You're an animal doctor?"
"What were you, a drummer boy?"

Gotcha. Maybe throw in St Elmo's Fire and The Lost Boys to aid in that comparison.

It's available for rent or purchase from all the major digital retail services.

It's actually one of those movies like Starship Troopers where it's makers intended it to be a critique of the right.

You're absolutely right. He was the "I have zero Fs to give" before it was a thing (as I sit here wearing a t shirt that says, "The count is zero.") And it had to be a dorky dude doing it. It's one of the reasons I switched back to physical media and ripping them to my NAS, when I realized that every movie that was edgy in any way was going to get edited by cloud providers.
I think some knowledge of SoCal also helps with understanding. The things a lot of people that aren't aware of aren't actually tropes, they were/are reality. For as much crap as Jews get, Koreans and Chinese probably trump us in terms of "you're always cheating me" culture, and if you're not aware of that, it may seem like the film is making fun of them. I don't think bodega owners from the DR in Manhattan are much different. SoCal traffic, the sweat in the valley vs. other places. I think it hits because it could have been almost any of us, if we'd lived there.

Good to hear because I remember searching for it a few months ago and didn't see it. I was in a hotel earlier this year that had it on their VoD and watched it.
