Rite Aid officially closed all their locations Friday after filling for bankruptcy earlier this year. The drugstore chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May this year after previously filling in 2023. They closed hundreds of locations in just a few months and now announced all stores are gone.

The one down the street from me was an absolute dump the one or two times I went in there.
As someone who has managed stores, I couldn't figure out how things could get so depressing. It makes sense now that the whole business said "frick it"

I wonder if someone can get hold of the K&B trademark and revive it.

I remember my dad had a bottle of K&B vodka that no one touched my whole childhood. That had to be an epic hangover back in the day

Louisiana Hayride - last I heard they're owned by some old lady who refused to sell for any price. I'm sure you could do something with that name. Maybe a music festival.

Sad that K&B sold out to these bums. I miss K&B and the swinging gate doors.

How do you lose money running a drugstore?
Most of the country is on drugs and much of that is paid for by the gov't

I used to live in an apartment next to the one on St. Charles Avenue & Louisiana before Katrina. My nickname for it was the “One Cashier”.

You think Walgreens is about to go out of business?

Yes. The soft on crime shoplifting laws are killing the retail side of drug stores.
