I don’t think so. At the end of the day Beamer will be going home with a 3-3 team. Maybe he should go to VT

If it's the same exact series of plays that we've seen in the past from the get go:
1st Down: incomplete pass
2nd Down: 1-yard rush or no gain
3rd Down: 3-yard completion well short of the line to gain
Then it will be immediate.

Oh if first down isn't a positive play I'll be throwing car batteries, oil barrels cleaning products etc on the field. Just complete anarchy

I usually find they mix that in either the 3rd or 4th quarter when you really need someone to make a play and convert to keep the driving going.

I wish someone could research stats on how many times we run the ball on 2nd down after an incomplete pass on 1st down. It's got to be close to 75% if I was guessing.

In our defense, I’d imagine the stats for all teams are heavily-weighted towards a 2nd down run after a first down incomplete pass. (A true disaster possession for any team would be 3 incomplete passes and punt)
The difference is most teams can at least get 3 or so yards on that second down run

If it happens on the first drive...you'll hear immediate boos.
Sloan has generally been TERRIBLE on opening drives. I've posted this stat before, but in now 10 SEC games, LSU has scored only one TD (Arkansas 24) and one FG (Alabama 24). The rest of the opening drives have been punts or a turnover on downs (Florida 24)
This season the result of LSU's five opening drives to date are
Punt
Interception

Punt
They have gained a COMBINED 62 yards on their 5 opening drives. 24 of those yards were on the very first play of the season when Durham broke a should have been TFL for a 24 yard gain.
In the last 3 games LSU has gone 3 & out on its opening possession

Ole Miss was 1st Down - 8 yard gain negated by penalty
2nd down - 4 yard gain
