College Fix

PDF OF ACTUAL STUDY

The toilets our campuses have become still have clogs.

quote:

Star Trek posters, Antebellum architecture, celebration of independent thought make some students feel like trespassers on their own campuses, scholars argue

quote:

Other exclusionary symbols noted by the authors include the Greek organizations, Star Trek posters and soda can pyramids in computer science buildings, ornate plaques near gates, and anything celebrating individual self-expression or independent thinking.

Two of the authors are UVA professors with another at the University of Chicago.

I thought independent thought was the purpose of colleges.

Y’all should read the full article and not the accommodated clickbait one posted.

I’m not saying it’ll sway your mind in a different direction, but the researchers aren’t critiquing “Star Trek posters” and independent thought as much as pointing out the design of college campuses reinforce territorial spaces that are monitored through surveillance measures. Of course they link colonial practices and racism to how those spaces are designed to function, so that’s a point of criticism if you want to actually engage with their argument.

I posted the pdf and the research spouts the nonsense about celebration of independent thought and Star Trek posters. Anyone who thinks this study has merit needs to ask their mom how much cocaine they snorted while pregnant.

Star Trek? WTF? It was the most advanced and sexually and racially diversified TV show ever in its day. It was a decade ahead of its time in that respect....If you count that Sulu is gay it' s a DEI trifecta!

You can think whatever you want as long as you say whatever they agree with.

Star Trek is basically a politard's nightmare, which is why it's hilarious that it's brought up in this study
