Zero. I work in O&G and while there are other factors causing layoffs and slowdowns the tariffs are only complicating matters.

Exxon is laying off 3-4% of the workforce. O&G is suffering a bit but thankfully improving

That’s not true. There has been government revenue from tariffs that obviously benefits you. But the main benefits from tariffs will take time to accrue - that would be reshoring of jobs.
I also was in oil and gas until very recently. My company built overseas execution centers to make more margin on our work. That was the rules, and we played by them, but tariffs changes the rules. Maybe that’s good.

Yea, but it is a fraction of the effect if Biden’s inflation has on all of our lives. We are way downstream from Trump’s tariffs have any big effect at all. It amazes me that we have these conversations as if the last 4 years just dont matter.

I can’t think of an industry less affected by tariffs than O&G.
Tariffs are stupid, but o&g doesn’t rely on imported materials.

Im in Oil and Gas as well. And most people are pissed about the tariffs situation. Most feel it when they go to the grocery.
Ever since covid, nothing seems like it has came down in price.
It feels like the land of a 1000 paper cuts now.

85% of what the federal government does has zero impact on my life. It’s a pretty terrible metric for personal politics.

Wrong … I sell raw goods. 50% tariff on steel. Who is going to pay for that lol? Sad thing is no one in the US can produce but still get tariffed
