Is it possible BK is being *too* detailed?

In his interview with Finebaum yesterday he kept going on about how he didn't prepare the guys enough and says at the end "our practices, our teaching, our meetings have to be so much more detailed, and get into the specifics...we haven't been detailed enough."

In addition to Nuss' injury, could we be seeing the effect of the team overthinking things instead of just playing the game that's in front of them? Some of the check downs, for example, looked like exactly that.

Nuss in 25 against SEC 58% completion. 2 TDs, 2 Ints.

He's a politician. He likes to talk.

Yes it’s possible. It’s like when QBs are trying to aim their passes too much

He shouldn’t have said a damn thing about Nuss until after Ole Miss. people can see he doesn’t have zip on the ball ie he can’t plant and turn his mid section to throw. He has a flat and broken frame. Get him out and let him heal the next few weeks.

Brian Kelly is the most confused and bewildered $100 million dollar man in the entire country.

He sincerely looks in as much shock and awe as we do every single time we get worked by an equal opponent.

I couldn’t actually think of someone less detail oriented than Brian Kelly.

He would say yes, without a doubt:

quote:

Coker said Saban met with him often while he battled Cooper Bateman for the starting job early in 2015. Saban sensed Coker getting in his own way -- too worried about messing up and agonizing over his reads instead of letting the ball go.

"He'd talk to me and get me to a place where I was going out there and reacting instead of overthinking each moment," Coker said. "A lot of our conversations were tailored toward the mental aspect."

Kelly is all talk. He’s more worried about his tee time.

Brian isn’t even middle management material. He’s been a coach for 100 years and somehow forgets what he needs to do?

This is just PR I’m owning it but not really stuff. Kelly doesn’t believe lack of prep was the issue last week, so he won’t own the actual issues

Took 5 seconds to see you lied about the TDs

Somehow this idea that Nuss was great last year has spread like wildfire. Now if you say nothing has changed people hate it.

Last year Nuss made poor decisions routinely and COULD NOT throw a deep ball.

I've heard "he may not have had an accurate deep ball but he had more power." He over threw a few deep balls last year but the majority of his deep pass attempts were underthrown. The worst part is the terrible decisions he makes trying to force plays. He did it last year often.
He has a bad habit of throwing the football while stepping, moving, or even falling backwards.

Everyone was hoping for an improvement this year in his second year starting and him being a 5th year senior. We've seen it happen twice with both Burrow and Jayden Daniels.
Nuss just hasn't improved.

Those were stats until Vandy.

If you want to know his full stats, I got you baby.

Nuss 2024-2025 5th Year Senior SEC Stats. 59% completion. 15 TDs, 10 Ints.

You would think that in this stage of BK’s career he wouldn’t be on national television talking about how he has to learn how to coach a football team.
If you have to repeatedly say “we have to coach better” off and on for 4 years after coaching as long as he has, it’s safe to say maybe the man just doesn’t know how to coach effectively enough to be in the SEC.
Unbelievable.
