Already seeing places not available in the the 4-8 pm slot.
Preferably shrimp, crabmeat, gumbo and oysters.
Nothing fancy.
Doesn't matter what NOLA neighborhood.
Then perhaps a local place for some music (yes it's Christmas Eve), but perhaps some of you hipsters know of something special.
As always, much thanks.

I think it matters a little. Could be a factor if you want to wake up Christmas morning

If you didn't already know, they're called Réveillon dinners.
Check the websites of participating restaurants and the "Holidays New Orleans Style" event page closer to the date.
Still, too soon for reservations
Celebrate the magic of the season with Christmas Eve at Tujague’s on Wednesday, December 24th. Reservations are available from 5:00–8:30 PM and can be made on OpenTable under the “Experiences” tab or by calling 504-525-8676. Please note that a credit card is required to hold your reservation, and we will be exclusively serving our 2025 Réveillon Menu for this special evening.
Christmas Eve 2025 $68.00 per person
Old link, but some good suggestions with photos and maps https://nola.eater.com/maps/restaurants-open-christmas-eve-new-orleans

This is the way to go
I would not recommend Tujague's at all though, its more of a tourist trap these days

We have enjoyed Galatoires holiday meals/menus.

Galatoire’s is not open on Christmas Eve.
I would see if the Pelican Club is open and still serving their Revillion menu.
If not, check the other Revillions.

For Christmas Eve reservations, most restaurants' websites aren't showing available dates that far out.

I wonder if you call if they will take it. My folks used to book xmas eve dinner at various places in NO/Met 6 months out.

Thanks.
I never thought of the "old school" way of calling.

You are wrong. We've been going for Christmas Eve for decades. Judge Williams usually does an impromptu ceremony naming one of the ladies there the Queen of Christmas Eve and she parades around with a table cloth draped over her with a septer of French Bread.

I thought they auctioned off Friday before Christmas then closed. Maybe that is just Mardi Gras.
