“At the request of Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, I am directing Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to provide all necessary Troops to protect War ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists. Not sure to what extent he is planning on doing this but sending in troops is a big move.
Citizens have a right to safety and businesses shouldn’t be burned out by mobs. But anytime the feds step in like this, I think it raises questions about how far Washington should go in local issues.
You can't blame Trump though. If Portland’s leaders won’t do their jobs, then the feds may have to. Long term, the fix isn’t troops. The real fix needs to be local leadership finally valuing law and order again instead of playing politics.
