3 LSU Starters who Transferred to Ole Miss

Womack, Diggs, Ryan. If they all left for more playing time, that tells me something within the 3 position groups for Ole Piss.

Diggs and Womack don't start to be fair. Sage starting for them does, however, show how desperate they were at safety.

Womack was solid. Hated losing him.
Diggs was a nice power back but we didn't need him anymore.
Ryan tried his best.

Pretty much sums it up, Womack was the only guy with a lot of potential, and he is heavily rotating in there similar to Butler or Reliford here and providing a lot of quality snaps.
Diggs was damaged goods going into 2024 and was a pain to deal with all season in 2023 so it was an easy breakup there. He isnt playing much at all this season.
We upgraded safety in a big way and even if Ryan came back and Burns didnt graduate neither of them along with Gilbert would be starting or playing that much here this season with Cooley/Haulcy coming in and Perkins moving to STAR.
Even Spears has been HUGE here so far this season and seen a whopping 45 snaps which is about the same as Toviano. To be fair to Ryan, he was better than Toviano and would probably be in front of him, but likely not anyone else.
We have playmakers in our secondary now where as we didn't really with guys like Sage, Jardin, Major....Sage had 1 pick in 4 seasons here (over 1k coverage snaps in his 5-year career and has 1 INT). Spears had 2 in 1 SEC game
By the wa, the 1 interception Sage has ever had was on a trick play by the Sooners last year where Bauer Sharp just chucked it up for grabs to anyone as he was being spun down :

He was one of the most lazy players on last year's team.
lazy = no effort

This reminds me that Dylan Carpenter deserves a huge shoutout and I’m excited for him to finally get his chance this weekend. Dude could have easily transferred (Womack was even ahead of him) but he his stuck it out here and now will be getting a ton of PT this weekend with Reliford out. I thought he has looked good against OU and Baylor last year and against SLU Saturday.

Was he really, though? Never got a lot of playing time on some bad defenses.

Womack always gave really good snaps here, he wasnt playing much for other reasons and why he transferred
It's not always how good you are, sometimes guys are headaches - Womack and Diggs in that category, and arent worth keeping around

It always bothered me the way Sage Ryan ran. His head leans way back like a child at recess whose neck is incapable of supporting the weight of his head.

Ryan was certainly a big-time underachiever.

Womack still has potential. Sage Ryan is not very good. Digs is a power back who has peaked and he has never been the same since his knee injury.

I got so sick of watching the back of Sage Ryan's jersey as he chases the ball carrier down field.

Don't understand the hate on Diggs. He and Josh Williams are the best two backs we've had by far since Clyde. I loved the way that guy ran.
Maybe he was a cancer in the locker room but his play spoke for itself. He was clutch and had much better vision that some other backs we've had.
