This offseason was one of the softest/easiest camps I’ve ever seen. They had short days and days off wasting time they could have used to learn new offense/defense and to clean up penalties. Usually when a new coach comes in they need more time than they are allowed and the coach has them practicing hard to perfect things. Moore seems too laid back. There were two close games that were winnable if you don’t have 60+yards in penalties.

Add in clock management etc and the coach hasn’t helped much more than DA. And I’m glad DA is gone.

Cam Cameron went 1-15 and was promptly fired in his first season.

As long as we’re pointing out unrelated shite

Isn't part of getting better going through bad / tough times to determine where you are and what need to take place to improve.

Everyone knew this season was going to be a very bad season while the new staff tried to rebuilt the roster and implement a new system. Most didn't considered it but part of that rebuilding is evaluating and tweaking that coaching staff. Not many first time HC's have the ability to pick that perfect candidate for every position on the staff the first go around.

This idea that we hired a new coaching staff so they should be able to come in and immediately turn every thing around in one season is misplaced logic at best.

It's not Madden, and people need to curb their instant gratification desires.

The dude isn't the gold standard of coaching yet either. He was the main cause of losing a playoff game and his team came out flat last year after the bye. Fwiw I think he'll win a Super Bowl eventually.

Especially one of the youngest hires of all time inheriting an extremely shitty roster.

Your are correct.
He single handly kept Detriot out of the superbowl, by not taking the easy points and kicking field goals.

He got lucky in green bay in the play offs in 2022. Green bay out played him but lost due to a mistake they made.

His team was devistaed with injuries last season 2023.
But 2022 was their year. They had everything going for them. If Dan Campbell woudl have been more conserative in the playoffs they would have made it to the superbowl.

As for Kellen Moore. He needs to build out a better roster.

The main cancer of this franchise is a GM that seemingly has iron-clad job security and a passive owner.

Kellen Moore needs time and a better roster before he can be made the scapegoat.

The Lions built arguably the best roster in the NFL. They nailed their coordinator hires. Campbell is fine but if he doesn’t win this year you’ll start hearing the whispers.

Moore has been dealt a ridiculously tough hand the way Loomis has fricked this franchise up

No I don’t think Loomis got that memo.

I need to listen to more of Moore's post game comments. What I do believe is Rizzi may have been the right selection.

I don't think anyone is expecting a playoff run but this team has way more problems than bad players. The amount of flags thrown on us isn't a talent issue, its a coaching and discipline issue.

It's funny probably 70% thought around a 3-5 win season.

And it was basically understood across the board that this team would finish Sept as either 0-4 or 1-3.

No argument from me.

Which is why I said part of this rebuild is evaluating the coaching and making changes as necessary. Few few if any coaches get every hire right the first time especially first time HC's.

But make no mistake what's happening right now must be addressed by both the coaches and the "Player" leadership in the locker room.

But regardless, it's not going to be fixed in 1 season and never was going to be. If people tricked themselves into thinking that it's their own fault because it's not realistic.

Now. Not when he took over. Only 5.7% of the roster was with the Lions when Campbell took over.
