The points guy
New statement credits
Up to $75 quarterly Lululemon at U.S. stores (excluding outlets) and online
Up to $200 annual Oura Ring (hardware only; not for memberships)
Up to $100 quarterly for U.S. Resy restaurants
Up to $120 for Uber One membership (subject to auto-renewal)
Hotel credit when booked through AMEX (select hotels)
Up to $300 biannually (every six months), was $200 annually
Digital entertainment credit
Up to $25 monthly, was $20 monthly (Paramount+, YouTube Premium and YouTube TV added)
Minimal updates, but you can get yourself a "mirror finish" card. Lame.

The luxury cards are determined to liquidate as many of their customers as they can. Practically begging cardholders to downgrade

Annual Fees have really jumped the shark. Trying to offset it by turning credit cards into coupon books with coupons most people won't use is a really shitty trend for the consumer.

Yep, and frankly it's going to work on me. I'll be downgrading my CSR before my anniversary date.

I don't want any of that.
Cash back and/or travel miles is all I want.

900 bucks a year for the privilege of having a credit card with an asinine credit limit made for people to carry over a large balance paying perpetual 30 percent interest?
No friken thanks. I’ll stick to my no fees one I pay off every month.

Those credits don't do much for me. Frankly I have never understood the appeal or advantage of Amex so I have just never gotten one.
I have long had an airline card that has benefited me a lot.
Different people want different things though

Amex is not meant to carry a balance fwiw

The gold card is one of the strongest daily spend mile earners on the market, and their SUBs are easily the most lucrative of any issuer, but yes, the fees typically outweigh the benefits if you don't get organic use out of the credits

That math don’t math.

What do you mean by "not meant to carry a balance"? Arguably carrying a balance on any credit card isn't ideal.

Somehow CSP has not increased and is still sub-$100

Cancelled mine last year..... juice wasn't worth the squeeze.

While AmEx does have credit cards in the normal sense, people typically think of their charge cars (Green, Gold, Platinum) which you literally cannot carry a balance. You have to pay your statement off in full every month

Same here. I had that and I have the CSR. I didn't need both, and the benefits of the AmEx Platinum didn't justify the cost for me.

It's probably coming soon though. Just a guess.

I don't know about the Green or the Gold, but you can carry a balance on the Platinum.

Yep, did this last year. Downgraded to regular Freedom and then applied for a CSP to nab that SUB.

The lounges are completely useless now. Hopefully this drives people away and they become usable again or i'll be switching and I don't even have to pay the fee.
