Even Duncan is not sugarcoating this anymore

quote:

It’s one thing to lose to a more talented and experienced team, which the Seahawks clearly were at almost every position. But it’s another thing to go down the way the Saints did, in a flurry of mistakes and self-inflicted wounds. That's the sign of a bad team, an undisciplined and poorly coached one. Until Sunday, the Saints had largely accounted themselves well in defeat. They were competitive in close losses to the Cardinals and 49ers. But there was nothing competitive about their effort on Sunday. This was a total team failure, a Cat 5 failure of execution and effort. The Saints trailed from start to finish for the second consecutive game this season and have now led for only four minutes total so far this season. They committed 11 penalties for 77 yards, including five pre-snap infractions on offense. On defense, they missed tackles, blew assignments and committed personal foul infractions. And they hemorrhaged special-teams mistakes, including another missed field goal by Blake Grupe. “We’ve got to play better in all three phases,” Moore said. “This is a powerful learning experience for us. We’ll see how we respond.” Only three games into his debut season, Moore now has a massive challenge on his hands as he tries to right the ship and instill confidence in the locker room. Up next is a daunting trip to Buffalo, where the Saints will face the undefeated Bills at Highmark Stadium, where they have won 12 consecutive games dating to 2023.

quote:

It all made for a long, embarrassing afternoon for the Saints. As they trudged off the field with one of their most lopsided losses in the last quarter century, a snarky Seahawks fan trolled them with a sign from the front row above their exit tunnel: "Hey, Saints, Amazon's hiring."

His offense looks like some gimmicky mountain west type BS too. The 15yd yard deep hand-off to Kamara from a complete stand-still is the most maddening, useless play I have ever seen.

I'll take the Shannahan under center, bootleg offense all day every day.

Not sure what I was expecting out of this game, but as Duncan pointed out they played with a lot of fight the first 2 games, then looked terrible in 1 game. Are we to expect this to be the trend for the rest of the year, or where the first 2 weeks more of an indication of who this team is (bad play, but still putting up a fight to the end).

I get Duncan has to sell clicks, but this sounds a bit premature as a direct shot at Moore.

We are working with a small sample size, but as someone else pointed out in another thread; how much of this offense is tailored to Rattler's strengths. Will be interesting to see how it looks when/if Shough a chance to start

The biggest purge of players is still coming. CKM is marking players he wants to keep and who to replace.

Including coaches lol

There's a pretty long list of expendable players that we can put on an ice floe, but NOBODY is more expendable than Jeff Duncan

Arm wrestling hell even slapoffs is more pure competition wise. I would have included fishing but those two jackoffs killed that lol

Moore also fumbles timeouts and situational calls. Who the hell kicks a field goal from the 6 yard line down 30?

I think we all figured whoever the coach would be, he would have a massive rebuild on their hands, and would likely be a sacrificial lamb for 2-to-3 years of ugly football by an aging & uncompetitive roster before they are fired him and hired another promising HC who would then take over a young but competitive roster and tweak it into a contender.

However, if the losing continues (like 0-17 or 2-15, like we hope), I could see Moore prematurely joining the likes of Urban Meyer, Jerod Mayo, Nathaniel Hackett, etc as another recent one-and-done NFL coach. And then they'd hire yet another rinse/repeat sacrifiial lamb.

Might as well stick it out with Moore until the roster is, at the very least, competent.

If only they would concentrate football instead of horse racing, buying more car dealerships, building another medical center for these Ochsner doctors, paying nasty priest’s legal bills etc.

The team isn't very talented. I don't follow Duncan much, does he rant on Loomis or Ireland any?

nobody is winning with this roster. I think talent wise, this is the worst roster I have ever seen from the saints.

So are we now advocating for firing our new head coach 3 games into a season we all knew would be really bad?

He's a first time head coach in his first year as head coach. Give him some acclimation time.

They never even got past the Panthers’ 30 yard line. Pretty crazy
