All of God’s country north of downtown St. Amani, all of St. Amant, and much of Livingston are all out.

Lovely!

Any idea what is going on? The automated call said "known outage...power restored by 830am"

I’m in ascension with Demco, and my friend across the river in Livingston with Entergy is out too.

The whole map is red in this area. It flickered for a half second after the initial outage

Has to be associated with a large substation. Demco used to source power from NRG. But I think they moved on to some out of state company. Nextera maybe? Whoever controls the switching from transmission to distribution is who’s likely to blame.

There is an Entergy transmission sub on 190 in Denham (Coley sub) that shares a fence and feeds a Demco distribution sub right next door. If Coley went dark, there was some major shite going on.

ETA: After looking at the outage map, coley was still online. Obviously, everything in question was further south/east.

Does anyone know what happened? We ended up not being out for nearly as long as they were saying, but it was still a significant outage.

We were out just long enough for me to gas up the generator and get everything running. Sat down to watch the 10:00 news and wife said everyone was back on….

Good hurricane test run I guess.
