Van is an interesting figure… he has seemed torn in recent years as he’s very much wrapped in a blanket of TDS but he has shown some cracks in his facade…He knows that the party he’s been influencing isn’t the same now and part of that is of his doing..

He's definitely an enigma publicly. His "whitelash" comment will forever live in infamy. But he does seems like a relatively normal dude that just shoots from the hip, albeit on cable news.

Van's general ideology is batshit, but I don't think he's like many modern leftists.
I posted years ago that he was the only analyst on CNN during 2016 who warned that Trump was resonating with voters, while his colleagues laughed him off and said Trump "had a ceiling".
Even Shapiro has said that he believes Van is a decent guy.

I'm certainly torn. His rhetoric helped kill Charlie. He is literally out there all the time dogpiling on the bullshite fascist/white supremacy BS. But, not many of his ilk would have said what he said there. So maybe there is hope for him at some point, but I doubt it. Could be a momentary attempt to jump ahead of the narrative. I hope not but he is consistently showed he is a POS. Time will tell.
