Clogged sinuses and nothing works

I've tried everything - Zyrtec, Claritin, Sudafed, Flonase, Nasacort. Nothing seems to help. My sinuses stay enflamed and I can't breathe through my nose. The only thing that helps is Afrin but I don't want to keep using it. Any suggestions for best remedy?

I hear good things about using a Neti pot. It flushes out the sinuses. Never used it myself.
This is not medical advice.

If you neti pot... do not use tap water- boil it first.

I've heard Afrin is addictive and can cause a rebound effect if you stop using it.

I noticed you didn’t say water. Increase your intake.

Try a good, deep massage to the trapezius area, close to the neck. There is some nerve there (can't remember the name) that is connected to the same nerve branch that has something to do with controlling the sinus area. I have had bad sinus problems in the past, and this works for me. I know that it sounds strange, but it works for me.

As a SINUS sufferer myself, I am here to help. My ENT solved my suffering 20+ years ago, the cure is actually simple.
1. Avril Nasal Gel - place on Q-tip, rub gel deep in each nostril.
2. Avril Saline nasal spray - keep sinuses moist.
That’s it, I no longer suffer from sinusitis. Each flare-up this is my cure, no other medications. GL

Get yourself a Navage.
Twice a day til you feel relief.
Use only distilled water
You will be shocked at what comes out your face.
I believe Wally World sells them.

I looked online and I don't see Avril anywhere... do you mean Ayr?

Simple baking soda and salt solution dissolved in warm distilled water. Put in neti pot or similar and clean nasal passage

quote:I was in the same boat. I would use the nose strips to open up, until I went to see an ear, nose and throat specialist and he wrote me a prescription of the medication, Azelastine, a liquid spray.

One spray in the morning. One spray in the evening. I workout, walk and run. It has made a huge difference in getting oxygen into my bloodstream while working out or working in the yard or around the house.
Talk to your doctor. I get it on our company medical plan for pennies, but a 180 day supply using Good Rx app is around $25.
