I’m looking for a South Texas Nilgai cow hunt for me and my son. Do y’all have any recommendations or experience with this? Looking for any information I can get.

Call Charles Buchen in Port Mansfield, he can put you on them as well as an epic day fishing for big trout.

Yes, if you want to shoot a Nilgai, go to the King Ranch. It’s almost as big a thrill just going on the ranch as it is hunting. They used to be super select on access. They have several different package hunts including cow hunts. Best time to go is in February when you are still in hunting season mode.

I did a nilgai hunt in 2022 on the king ranch. Agree with a previous poster. Just being there and seeing the ranch was amazing. Being from Louisiana, it’s hard to wrap your head around how many acres it encompasses. Shot a decent bull while walking thru a post oak forest. I did a day hunt for a bull. They do require a 30 cal or larger gun.

Sitting on the king right now. The amount of cotton bales I drive through stacked on the road is insane. This place is special for sure.

There’s something about the King Ranch that makes me want to go there. It’s not cheap but I’d say it’s one of those bucket list things

I’m at my place right now. My brother and I sat in the blind tonight and we saw 50 animals at one stand. It really is a cool area if you’re into hunting.

Are you near the King Ranch, and do you have any recommendations for a good Nilgai cow hunt?

La India Ranch, top notch and a ton of Nilgai with some huge bulls.

I’m very close to the king ranch. I don’t know anywhere besides the king ranch to go on a hunt.

Theres a 99% chance the answer will be no.
I need a camp boat AND a four-wheeler......
But I will go eventually.

Has anyone hunted with Daniel Land at the Santa Fe east ranch for Nilgai?

What is the budget for a hunt like this as the private lease Iam part of has plenty and we don’t hunt them but could see if I could connect you with landowner and outfitter he lets hunt his land for axis and other exotics. Family oriented. Around Kerrville.
