The key to taking illegal funds is to make sure it’s enough to pay for top notch legal defense.

Damn. I can’t help but like Gary and I hope that they don’t throw the book at him in sentencing. Not sure if there is any discretion in sentencing? But it sounds like he could die in prison if they get a long sentence

Well, Mr Franques, I’m sure if you write the judge asking for leniency he’ll take it under advisement.

I have no clue who this is, but I can only assume that since Tgirl posted it, it’s more than likely a republican politician

Also interesting that this may have lead the DA to have a challenger next election. An article I read said Kristian Earles is running.

Laffy DA’s office is a viper pit of corruption, I guess in the 24 yrs I lived there I just ignored it.

This is good news. Now can we go arrest every sitting congressman?

Kristian officially turned in his resignation as judge the other day, effective before the end of the year, and was in the federal courtroom for much of the trial.

Only a fool hell bent on losing would run as a democrat in Acadiana. I support Republican candidates in every local election.

Lafayette/15th JDC DA needs to just give up on doing a PTD program, at this point.

I attended a catholic school auction about 4 yrs ago where the guy with the shitstain on his head absolutely threw away money on every single item. It all became very clear why.

What is the $$ for a federal trial?
Mike Small was $25k in the mid 80’s if I member correctly. Ole Scaredy Cat Clemons has to be getting some coin to get most of his clients convicted.
