Does anyone have any experience getting back to the Crowne Plaza hotel off of College Dr after a game during contraflow? What’s the best route to take?

I parked in 406 for UF game. They made me turn right and go toward Nicholson instead of River rd.

This is the right question.

I’ve seen that picture. Doesn’t really help much when you’re off campus and BRPD extends far past the campus gates.

Planning to park on Dalrymple by UHigh. Figure that gives me the best chance to get in that direction

As one who tailgates on the east side of campus, all I can tell you is that with the closure of May Street (street that is on the isthmus between the University Lakes), exiting via Dalrymple was an absolute mess last week. Once you were on Dalrymple there is no turning off until you have passed under I-10.

Not sure if they took forever to get the Dalrymple contraflow started or what, but sat in a parking lot without any movement for about 45 minutes before getting on-street and then on Dalrymple. Once on Dalrymple it moved pretty well.

Normally I would say that if you are on the east side of campus, I would go Dalrymple to May Street, cross the lakes, take Morning Glory to Hyacinth and then up Lee/College Drive to your hotel. But that plan is shot for the entire football season because of the May St. closure.

I would suggest you try to use back roads and neighborhood streets as cut throughs/back doors as much as possible. Either go North on Dalrymple to Perkins and take that back to College Drive, or you can go south on Sorority Row/W. Lakeshore to Stanford and cut through on Hyacinth or another neighborhood street to Lee/College Drive. But W. Lakeshore is just as much a mess as Dalrymple, if not more.

I would take Nicholson to Burbank to Lee. Lee obviously turns into college drive.

Or if you can't make that left on to Burbank then you can turn left on lee from Nicholson.

if 406 I would head towards downtown and get on interstate and then come back to college

if by UHigh then take Dalrymple out and turn and go by St Josephs Academy and you can cut through by where Webb Park is and go up college dr to hotel

If this weekend, won't be a big crowd... park by Law School or Uhigh.. exit North on Dalrymple, go through Garden District and get on College heading South.. if a bigger game, get a parking pass near Vet School and exit River Road to downtown

Parking by U High (or near the law school or somewhere along Dalrymple by the fraternity houses) is the best place to park for free. After the game, go North (the only direction you can go) on Dalrymple (it becomes Park Blvd), turn right on Broussard Street by City Park, then turn right on Perkins Road. Take Perkins Road to College Drive and College Drive to the Crown Plaza service road. I do this drive all of the time. If you want to avoid Perkins, you can take Broussard Street to Acadian Thruway, then turn right, then get on I-10 East Bound, take first exit (College Drive) and you are virtually at Crown Plaza. Easiest exit from Tiger Stadium, but you have to walk about 0.75 miles to your car after the game.

go River Rd to downtown
I-10 w/b to Lafayette
I-49 n/b to Opelousas
190 e/b to Baton Rouge to I-10 e/b
exit college drive

traffic should be nice and clear by the time you get to the hotel.

Whatever you do, don’t head towards Lauberge. I usually take downtown and it flows well

I park in 311. We take S Stadium Dr / Lakeshore to Stanford / Acadian and get on I-10 East - next exit is College

Contraflow the entire way to the interstate

We drive back to Slidell

I parked at U-High last week. Left stadium with 1:45 on clock in 4th.

Took Dalrymple, under I-10, turned right on Broussard Street. Snaked around golf course to College and head to Corporate Blvd (north side of I-10 from you, directly across).

Took 20 mins from leaving parking lot behind fraternity houses across from U High to my place on Corporate Drive.

Nicholson to Burbank and right on highland. It took longer for me to get out of the parking lot than it did to get to highland.

Saw Hester leaving. They don't give him good parking apparently. He was in 406 with us.

this is the best bet coming from 406.

The crapshoot is you never know how far contra flow will take you to get back on the interstate downtown. Its been different every time I've gone that way.

If you want speed, I think the free parking across from the Ag Center on South Stadium Drive (back into your spot) is the best place. Head out to Stanford and then up to the interstate. Very easy.

Of course, I park my car there the night before to ensure I have a parking space. I’m sure it fills up very early on game day.

Do not park in a parking lot if you want to leave quickly.

We take the Dalrymple to Broussard route after every game. So easy and relatively quick.
