Add me to the list of saying Kimmel did not say what people say he said.

I’m no fan of Kimmel. I think he’s a smug, preening a-hole that gets far too much of a pass for his antics with The Man Show just because he plays the left for the fools they are.
That being said, when I read this quote, I saw it as him saying the shooter was MAGA. Another valid interpretation, though, is that he was criticizing the right for basically coming up with any narrative they could as long as it denied even the possibility that he was MAGA.
Same words. Different intent.
I still think he’s a putz, and his show was probably a money-loser and this was just a convenient excuse.
I just think we need to take a step back and cut out the “They did it first” justification for more witch hunts.

He said very specifically that the murderer was not “anything other than one of them” (MAGA). There’s nothing to interpret.

Nobody is being censored. They are being fired for saying stupid shite that will cost their employer money. So the employer decides to cut bait. They are still free to say stupid shite all they want. But there are consequences.

I think it is obvious with anyone with a brain that what he said is not that bad. But this was just an excuse for the government to lean on ABC and get him fired to make the MAGAs happy since the entire plan is just "punish anyone I disagree with".

TV Stations apparently did not like his wording PLUS his ratings were in the shitter = Why several TV Stations dropped him from their line-up...thus causing Disney to take action.
