Looking ahead, How does Ohtani not win the MVP every year?

Provided he's healthy of course.
If he hits and pitches at above average for the next 5 years, shouldn't he be the MVP every year? He already has 3, will likely win this year giving him 4 already. Most ever is Bonds with 7.
Last night for example, 5 no hit innings. He is currently in second place in NL HR race with 50. Also, struck out the current NL HR leader.
I would think it's almost a lock at this point he ends up with more than Bonds.

Yes you are correct, he has been injured, however, in 3 (probably 4) of the years you listed he was injured, he has an MVP.

The big qualifier is the pitching side of him. If he isn’t pitching it’s a much more fair fight, and at a certain point I do think he will stop pitching because of the health aspect. If he’s both hitting and pitching you’re absolutely correct, and I agree he ends up with more than Bonds.
As an aside I have always wondered how awesome a defensive OFer he would be if he didn’t pitch. Given his athleticism and arm it’s easy to see him being gold glove level

He is amazing ball player I've never seen anyone do what he can do at that level

On top of the aforementioned injuries, he's already 31, not exactly young for sports standards.

The body can only handle so much extreme athletic stress. He’s putting an incredible amount of differentiated stresses on his body, makes sense he’s prone to injury

He should win it every year. How he didn't win in 2022 is the dumbest shite. He was 4th in Cy Young and hit over 30 homeruns. If you really think about it, if you are an above average hitter and an above average pitcher that alone should make you the most valuable player. He's elite at both.

Definitely. If anything i think he will become a victim of his own success.
150+ innings pitched while hitting 30+ HRs cannot be the norm, but he's done it.
But if he throws around 80-100 above average innings while hitting 30+ HRs, doesn't that still warrant MVP?

I'm not underselling how good he has been, I'm just saying if that was the bare minimum, I think it would still warrant MVP status.

Agreed, he's one of the best of all time.
Funny thing I've had a few friends/acquaintances who are Astro fans that think he's overrated, as they only see him play when the Astro's play his team and apparently, the Astros have his number?
I always tell them, well....I don't know what he does against the Stros but he kills everyone else.

It’s not like they gave it to Terry Pendleton in 2022.
Aaron Judge hit 62 hr, 131 rbi, 133 runs, .311 ba, .425 obp, 1.111 ops, 10.8 war and his team won 99 games. Judge led the league that year on runs, hr, rbi, walks, .opb, .SLG, .ops, TB, etc.
It was an historically great offensive season for judge.
