Blake Baker's Future

I am going to relish in this season, enjoying every game he leads this defense.
But just for the sake of conversation, let's talk about his future. Everyone knows he is head coach material. Defensive genius who players seem to absolutely love playing for.
He could leave as early as next year, taking a solid P4 job at an Ok State. or Wisconsin.
He could be inclined to stay, compete for a few titles, let his kids grow up around family and wait for a HC offer from a Powerhouse.
He could have something worked out with Woodward to be "next in line" in the event Kelly hangs it up before the 10 years (because he got sick of winning championships).
He could leave, get some HC experience with the end goal of coming back to take over here.

He’s gone after this season in my book. He’s too good of a coach and now he has a solid national profile.

i think he is at least offered some jobs this year

Woodward should put it in his contract that he is the next HC in waiting
I would think Baker would rather wait for this job, even if it took some years, than take a job at a lower tier program and potentially ruin his stock

If Tulane opens up, he gone.
Otherwise, he can afford to be picky. No point in taking a dead end job like VaTech.

With NIL where it is, it doesn’t make sense to leave to be a HC and mid tier program. Lots of pressure and no money. It’s a revolving door and your stock goes down.
Stay here for a while and your stock goes through the roof.
I hope we pony up for him.
