“Hey Brian, great game today, beating an SEC rival by more than expected…umm…yeah so why does your offense suck balls?”

Wtf?

I’m actually more convinced that the reporter was a plant to give Kelly an avenue to build more rapport with his players. Otherwise, this question is just downright ret**ded to ask out of the gate lmao.

The offense is a huge question mark. It’s a legitimate question proved by his reaction.

The actual opening question was “what are you seeing with the offense?” Kelly literally could have turned it into a positive if he really wanted to. It was actually a really open ended question. Kelly was pissed because he knows his offense hasn’t been good.

Asking this question and in the tone he asked it after we beat a team by more than expected as the first question out of the gate is a bit journalistically dishonest to me, even if our offense does have some issues.

It was Michael Cauble. He’s not a plant. He’s one of the main people tagged to report on LSU.

Kelly’s response was definitely more for the team to hear than anyone else. I do think he went a little too far with it though.

And it’s pretty dishonest for BK to say that the rushing game is fine because of the long run at the end of the game, no? According to BK, “that’s all you need”

At least it was in the form of a question?

Anyone remember this gem during the Les Miles era:

I literally didn’t, but what does politics have to do with this thread? Moreover, wouldn’t the pussy who gets his panties in a bunch over a reporter’s question about a football team be the person more likely to have voted for a dumb cackling politician?

The reporters questions were 1000% valid. Defense saved our arse. That would be the same first question from any reporter to any head coach after a game like that.

Kelly knows it, didn’t have an answer, got aggressive and intimidated the rest of the reporters , by getting loud , to not ask about the offensive debacle of a performance.

No composure after our longest play of the game: fumble , the interception.

Kelly only wanted the easy questions, clearly.

Issues? Issues? This offense is terrible. We have studs at wideout, RB, what should be a high quality signal caller, excellent TE’s, and we can’t run the ball for shite. We come out in the second half and we run the same running play that hasn’t worked all game. The passing with the exception of a few plays looks more like a substitution for the running game that does not exist. That’s what snapping the ball and throwing it out to a wideout who is standing at the line of scrimmage is. It’s pitiful. CBK hasn’t fielded a team yet that is balanced. We were great on offense and sucked on D. Now we are great D and suck on Offense.

People here get pissed when they ask softball questions, then they get pissed when they ask him a legit question everyone is wondering. Our offense sucks. A reporters job is to ask a question and try to get an answer why

Kelly threw a tantrum. Very inappropriate. I hope he apologizes to the reporter.

The reporter was fine until like the third thing he said, Kelly was immediately defensive on the first question. Kelly was unprofessional first, but I don't particularly care how he treats the media.

It took 5 picks and defensive TD to escape with a win at home against a very average Florida team. If the offense was just decent, LSU would’ve blown the doors off of them.

It’s absolutely a fair question and the offense should concern everyone right now.

I’m calling BS. When your defense turns in a game like that, and the way they played without arguably their best player…
Open ended question my arse, everyone knows what the reporter was asking. It was a passive aggressive question.
I don’t agree with the way BK responded to it, but that was not the right time and place to ask that and that question should have waited.

BK makes $10 million a year to not act unhinged when he’s asked a question he doesn’t want to hear.

I have no love for reporters but BK didn’t exactly look good in the exchange.

Good lord, why in the hell do you think a 63yr old man making 10mil a year who has been coaching over 3 decades needs to be question coddled after a game where the offensive performance was so atrotious? I don’t like the media any more than the next guy but the reporters are the voice for the fans and a lot of the fan base are frustrated with how the offense if performing.
